I'm neither British nor Australian, but I found this morning's Ö÷²¥´óÐã Breakfast piece about relative Olympic medal tallies embarrassing to witness. So what if the UK is doing better than Oz for once? Just be proud of the athletes representing you, have some class and don't crow about it.

You might as well suggest we stop writing about conversions of measurement units to double decker buses, imperceptible witticisms, Cabbaging, flexicography, porridge, or more importantly, what is the optimal combination of all those things to get your letter published. Oooh oooh oooh. . .I work in an office with 22 nationalities (no Chinese, one American)... our tally is 108 golds, 122 silver,and 121 bronzes. Which puts us clear out in front with a princely rate of slightly less than five medals per head. Take that, Slovenia!
