fawkes203shadow.jpgOn Wednesday's Newsnight the political blogger Guido Fawke's suggested that the 主播大秀's Political Editor Nick Robinson was the source of a story he featured on about Downing Street having a second email system. You can see the film and debate here.

Guido Fawkes has since .

Nick Robinson noted Guido's apology on his own blog and gave his views on the blogger's original interview with him featured in the film here.

Nothing much worth commenting on here any further, bar the reassuring notion that it seems even the Newsnight team is not above a duplicate post.

Or... (SFX: sinsister music) did they think it was so good they posted it twice????

I'm crushed that rugged individualist Guido Fawkes allowed himself to be persuaded by Newsnight to lurk in the shadows - I thought he said he was impervious to editorial control. Well, today he's less of a rugged individualist and more of a stunned mullet as a result. Who can you trust?

I have just - for my sins - clicked on your link to Guido Fawkes's own blog on this and read the comments posted there. I have not come across such concentrated obscenity since I retired from teaching. Why on earth did Newsnight get mixed up with this Guy in the first place?

Good question Lesley.

Could it be thay they all just enjoy playing the same intenSional games?

They presumably all know that government ministers professionally toe the party policy line and have to consult Special Advisors or Civil Servants on any other substantive issues (which all takes time), so one has to assume that Newsnight journalists (and Mr Fawkes) knowing that they can't expect simple answers to difficult impromtu questions, just enjoy bating politicians (and sometimes each other, as we saw in that peculiar exchange the other night between Mr White and "Guido" at the end of Newsnight).

Sometimes I wish ministers would just tell them to stop asking such pointless questions as we then might not have to listen to so many vacuous responses from politicians.
