So who's disassociating themselves from whom? Given Labour’s position in the polls is Ken trying a ‘nothing to do with me’ approach or are the current revelations about Ken’s Cronies causing the Labour Party bigwigs to keep their heads down? It will be interesting to see which members of the cabinet are prepared to campaign for him!

As an Independent myself, there is no way I would endorse Ken if he decided to splash his Labour credentials all over his website. His political stance is a winning one and if a labour logo appeared right at the top of his page, thousands of votes would go to another candidate.

I 'though' so too, though I'm not so sure I 'though' correctly.

Ken is a law unto himself that's why!
He does what he wants and is not concerned whether Londoners agree with his hairbrained schemes or not.

Red Ken ain't red anymore, I never thought I would see the day when Mr Livingston would become a yes man for a big salary. He has inflicted misery on Londoners & commuters with high conjestion charges, which are set to rise even higher. A far cry from the fair deal 5p bus tickets.

I was as deceived by Ken in the 1980s as I was by the ideology of multiculturalism. As it turns out, multiculturalism was not about equality but about Ken building his own empire on the ethnic vote.

A natural 'labour' supporter, I find myself longing to see Boris take this one - after all better to have a figurehead for London who was once an immigrant but who now typifies the charm, ease, wit, humour and eccentricity of the (multi-racial) English culture, than an indiginous Brit who sells out his countryfolk.

One of the major draw backs of our flavour of democracy is that people like Mr Livingstone have 5 whole years in which they can choose to ignore voters after coming to power.
Local elections should become compulsory every 2 years. Then elected officials will have little time to climb Mt Olympus and become demi-gods.

I wish more politicians would shut up about which party they belong to. Tell us what you believe and why - let us vote for a credible set of values & priorities, not for a label. Used to be the voting slips didn't even mention the party. It meant candidates had to express their own ideas, and voters had to take the trouble to listen and think for themselves. Good on you, Ken.

The congestion charge - Fair enough - but where are the promised the low fares Ken? Without them the congestion charge is a con.
