Parliament - Vince Cable is rebuked for questioning whether The Queen is more in touch with ordinary citizens than the government; MP's expense/salaries/pensions are news because they are seen to be excessive to the ordinary citizen; official inflation is around 2% yet ordinary citizens know that their everyday inflation is probably between 6% and 8%- is the relationship between the state and the people nearing breaking point?

Are the statistics published by the ONS worth the paper that they're printed on?

For the Faith and Globalisation discussion, perhaps Richard Dawkins, author of 'The God Delusion', would be suitable - I'm sure he'd have something interesting to say on that issue and Tony Blair's opinions of it.

Blair to speak on Faith and Globalisation? I assume the sub-heading is 'Two of the many things I don't understand but have been happy to blunder into in my relentless search for self advancement.'

None of the above. Population control (not the subsidiary immigration). Can the world go on growing population wise forever? If it becomes clear that we in the UK cannot what happens to the economy? Can a liberal free market system cope with static or even falling demand in the long run as population levels are maintained at a certain level? If confidence in the economic system fades will we in fifty years suddenly have a situation where confidence in the economy disappears never to return?

How about Jonathan Miller for the faith and globalisation spot? I understand he is a more bearable advocate of atheism than Dawkins. Yes, I know what you are thinking - it wouldn't be difficult.

The Lisbon Treaty - it's passage through the House of Lords and the Lib Dems position on their Lords - in other words how do they excuse the inexcusable - lots of us have never had a say on the UK inside europe - and it is time we did have a say - especially when they are ignoring the wishes of the people - some 85% want a say - there will be very few Lib Dem MP's in the House of Commons after the next election after this treachery

I'd just love someone to explain to me who benefits from a house that costs 拢50,000 to build then gets a sale price of around 拢250,000?
The government in stamp duty? Estate Agents and Solicitors in fees? Property Invetsors and Developers in profit? The poor first time buyer who has to find the deposit and pay the mortgage?

Further to population control. Would it not be better to cap and even reverse immigration than be forced to build 15 new towns thus concreting over more of our precious land.

You say the airline plot would have been the biggest terror atrocity since 9/11. In terms of numbers of civilians killed and maimed, "shock and awe" which "preceded" the invasion, designed to terrorise (literally) the Iraqi population into early submission, was the worst atrocity since 9/11, and exceeded 9/11.

Allan Lewis mentions that the 主播大秀's output since the Balen report has improved, well sorry Allan I have to disagree, even the teaser for the film regarding Israeli settlers has a bias slant towards it.

If the 主播大秀 were prepared to release the Balen report (which we all paid for) to the public that would be a start in showing that the 主播大秀 has stopped it's percieved anti-semetic reporting.

It would be better still if the 主播大秀 removed Bowen, Gardner and Plett from being allowed to report on anything to do with the Middle East.

Israel continues to build illegal settlements in West Bank and the United Nations are doing nothing to protect innocent Palestinians who are coninually losing their livelihood daily.

Israel have destroyed many homes of innocent people and yet the whole world sits and watch, and why? Because Israel has the backing to commit these atrocious and illegal acts from the United States.

The questions "Do UK citizens get value for money from the 主播大秀?" and the subsidiary question "To what extent does the 主播大秀 distort our national values and beliefs?" are worth asking.

With so many communication channels in television the news is available from a diverse range of sources and many do not incur a charge in this our Freeview age.

A related point is this diverse range is extended even more by the World Wide Web itself. Do we need to pay for a great big centralizing 主播大秀 behemoth?
