Nick,

Please don't let up with those questions. Pursue him and interview him lots so that he gets endless opportunities to restate his cause and turn the electorate towards him.

The best politics is played out where-ever the majority of voters happens to be at the time. And yes, good politicians should be able to anticipate where the majority can be moved to and carry it through. Thatcher and Blair both achieved this in their own way.

They have successfully encouraged millions of people out of the fringes into the comfortable and aspirant middle class. They knew that the majority were ready to move and which direction they wanted to go.

I suspect Cameron does too.

Cameron really needs to do exactly what Blair did in the mid 90's and remove the old guard from his party if he wishes to form the next government and like Blair, he needs to do it now while his mandate for change is fresh.

If he does not, the corrosive Thatcher Effect of the old guard continually reminding people of the "Good Old Days" is going to seriously undermine Cameron's reform efforts.

It will also make people such as myself far less likely to vote for the Conservatives if we believe that the old party is just waiting to re-emerge.

Is the 'charming man' Mr Cameron not a fraud? This is the man that was responsible for writing the 2005 election manifesto for the Tories which most commentators would agree was pretty right wing! So either he is prepered to say anything to get elected or he actually believes what he wrote last year. It's amazing that the press have given him such a free ride. It was when he was interviewed by Paxman that the public was made aware of Cameron's voting record and the 2005 election manifesto. But Cameron's spin doctors successfully made out it was a victory for DC. I'm really sick to the back teeth of the media in in all of it's form giving Cameron 5 star's for 3 star performances. Let's hope the Tory backbench MP's start to hold him to account. His Europe policy is positvely barmy and will surely come back to haunt him? Does Britain really want a heir to 'Blair'? are we not sick of the endless spin etc and bad foreign policy decesions i.e Iraq, is this not what Cameron is promising more off? Yes he is nice man, but so am I does that mean I should be PM? I hope the Ö÷²¥´óÐã's political editor continues to give Mr Cameron a difficult time and please do'nt let the liberal media types put you off by criticising you for asking probing and aggressive questions.
