Finding Olympic sponsors has become tougher in today's economic climate but London 2012 may get crucial help in the next few months from the International Olympic Committee.

I understand that the IOC is looking at striking a global deal with an automobile supplier. This would mean London 2012 would not need to sign its own agreement with a car and bus manufacturer, which is likely to be hard in the middle of a recession.

It is almost as if the life and has just expired, blown up in a puff of smoke and fireworks. I know it all happened but it almost seems unreal, looking back now.

There are no 6am alarm clocks, the carbon footprint I used to create commuting down the M4 to the GB Rowing training base near Reading, has gone from excessive to almost non-existent; the washing machine is practically dormant, and my food bills must have decreased by about 70%.

I used to spend five or six hours training each day, I am now spending that time slowly working through a four-year long to-do list, and figuring out what I am going to do with my life.

completely blew me away. It was a day I will never forget and one that confirmed my belief that the London Olympics in 2012 are going to be more passionate than any other.

Just seeing the emotion on some people's faces in the crowd brought me to tears; people shouting "thank you" and "well done" and jumping up and down. But really it was us that wanted to say "thank you" to them.

When everything is hurting during a race and you've tried everything, it is the knowledge that so many people back home and in the crowds are willing us on that carries us over the line. The support and enthusiasm of the British people are like nothing else I've ever experienced.

When the Olympic victory parade took place in central London on Thursday, I rushed away from it and headed to the east of the capital where the Games will be staged.

With the greatest respect to Britain's successful Olympians and Paralympians, and to the rest of the country, my belief is that it is among the people of Newham where we will find out if the 2012 Olympics have been worth it or not.

The east London borough is the Olympic benchmark. This is one of the poorest parts of the country which has suffered with high unemployment for years.

It also has the notoriety of having residents who are bottom of the London's league in terms of sports participation - and second bottom in the whole of England.

After the excitement of the Beijing Paralympics, promises to surpass all expectations.

Although established athletes like , and will be at the forefront of ParalympicsGB's plans, the need to identify and bring through new talent is becoming more and more important as the Games approaches.

Increased funding is allowing initiatives like ParalympicsGB's programme, which aims to increase participation in disabled sport, to take on a new significance.

With the memories of Beijing still fresh, hopefuls filled out an online form over the last few weeks on the ParalympicsGB website and were invited along to east London's Mile End Leisure Centre earlier this week to try out 19 Paralympic sports.

As parades go, it was pleasant enough.

City boys wolf-whistled at . Office girls took photos of Chris Hoy on their mobile phones and zoomed in on the triple-layered bling around his neck. Natasha Danvers-Smith warned autograph hunters to "watch out for the horse-poo" left by the mounted police escort.

What was missing, as the 12 floats rolled slowly from Mansion House through to Trafalgar Square, was the giddy-eyed Olympic fever which had gripped the nation back in the summer.

There might well have been good reasons why the parade had to be delayed until the middle of October - planning issues, traffic control, the busyness of - but it was hard to escape the feeling that the moment had passed.

Locog - the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games - is being a bit coy about confirming the story that Cadburys are to become another of its tier-two sponsors.

Sorry, no puns here about sweeteners or flake-y deals, but in this current cascade of bad news about cash and confidence, it is good to know that Locog isn't running short of either.

At the end of August, as the Olympic extravaganza in Beijing drew to a close, Lord Coe that London's Games in four years' time would inspire "fewer couch potatoes and more participants".

The 2012 chief said: "The real challenge for our governing bodies, and for sport more broadly, is how many people can you get into the sport off the back of that great moment?"

As long as the rowers and sailors keep producing these great moments, mighty pins and his lead to more velodrome glory and Becky Adlington remembers to before jumping in the pool, then Coe's dreams could and should be reality.

Wembley is poised to play a much bigger role in the organisation of the 2012 Olympics than originally planned.

主播大秀 London has learned that London 2012 officials have been looking for some time at scrapping their original plans to build a temporary arena near to the 02 to stage badminton and rhythmic gymnastics.

There had been proposals to move the two sports to ExCel indoor arena, which is already staging a variety of 2012 events, but there is not enough space.

Now officials are seriously looking at taking badminton back to the Wembley Arena, a spiritual home for the sport. The prestigious All-England championships were staged at the arena - which is right next to the outdoor stadium - between 1957 and 1993.

You'll get the chance to welcome Britain's Olympic and Paralympic heroes home when they this Thursday, 16 October.

There have been other parades, like the one in Edinburgh for the Scottish medal winners from Team GB, while Rebecca Adlington enjoyed her own open-top bus tour of Mansfield.

But the London procession will be the first time the entire British team gets back together, and around 500 athletes are expected to travel on 10 flat-bed trucks.

Out of all those athletes, how do you pick your favourite British performance from a summer of success in Beijing?
