Team of the Tournament

m_orlavac_6666.gifLondon - So after five weekends of thrilling action, the dust has settled on another Six Nations campaign.

Before the tournament started, our team of Ö÷²¥´óÐã Six Nations bloggers sat down to select a combined team of the tournament and we did the same three games in.

Now hostilities have come to an end, the votes have been painstakingly counted and we can exclusively reveal what we think is our definitive starting XV.

Triple crown winners Ireland provide six of the team, with champions France and Italy having four players apiece.

Youngster David Strettle is England's only selection while Wales and Wooden Spoonists Scotland miss out altogether.

Six players from the original team have kept their places, and interestingly five of them are in the pack.

Let us know what you think of our selections, what we've got right, what we've got wrong, and let us know how your Six Nations XV would look.

Bryn PalmerLondon Before the Six Nations began, we had a con-flab here in the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Sport website office about who would be in our combined team of the tournament.

After three rounds of action, our original team have not entirely justified our faith in them...Only six of the original XV make our latest combined XV, which has been based on aggregating my selections with four of my colleagues.

Controversially (or not given the results/?), there's no room for a single player from Scotland, Wales - or England.

We will revisit the subject after the final two rounds. Anyway, see what you think..

Bryn PalmerHere's my team of the tournament so far:

15 Clement Poitrenaud – Girvan Dempsey is a reassuring presence and Kevin Morgan excelled before injury struck again, but the Frenchman has rediscovered his élan.

14 Shane Horgan – Missed the opener against Wales and not so happy at inside centre against France, but the big wing was back to his barnstorming best against England.

13 Brian O’Driscoll – Tom Shanklin has given Wales more of a cutting edge since his return from injury but the Ireland captain remains the class act of the field.

So the dust is beginning to settle on the Six Nations' "Super Saturday" - three games, 163 points and 16 tries.

A good day to be a rugby union fan (although , and supporters may dispute that), the middle Saturday of the tournament was a real test of endurance.

See if you agree with my ratings.

b_palmer_6666.gifI'm a senior broadcast journalist working on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Sport's website, and responsible for looking after our rugby output. I'm 34, Welsh (don't hold that against me) and have been at the Ö÷²¥´óÐã since early 2002.

My journalism career started with the Press Association in Scotland 10 years ago, writing about everything from the Old Firm to curling, before I moved on to the .

I then spent a wonderful year travelling in Australia and New Zealand, freelancing for various British newspapers, and taking in the Sydney Olympics and the . I've also covered the last two Rugby World Cups, including England's triumph down under four years ago.

Having grown up in south Wales, I'm obviously a Manchester United fan - since I was five, honestly - and have a soft spot for Hereford, who I used to cheer from the home end at Edgar Street. Rugby-wise my heart's with Wales, but I cheer on all the Celtic countries.

My body won't allow for rugby anymore but I still play five-a-side football, a bit of tennis and golf, and love skiing, snowboarding and water-skiing. I'm also a big fan of snooker and darts.
