Keith Edelman, the managing director, has been in touch with Daniel Levy, chairman of , to tell him Arsenal were not best pleased that Spurs had invited to be their guest at White Hart Lane for the North London derby on Saturday.

Peter Hill-Wood, the Arsenal chairman, told me he thought it was insensitive of Tottenham.

I have also heard more details of what took place at the Tottenham boardroom on Saturday afternoon.

Dein sat at a table with Levy, whilst the Arsenal board sat at the next table. The entire Arsenal board was there minus the largest shareholder, Danny Fiszman.

Before the match walked in and said hello to Dein but had his usual pre-match cup of coffee sitting with the Arsenal board.

and Dein did not even exchange words, let alone share coffee. During the match Dein sat two rows behind his old colleagues - on the visiting board directors side but clearly not part of the Arsenal hierarchy.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are amused by Arsenal's reaction to them inviting Dein.
