Carol Vorderman leaves Countdown
Dorothy thanks Carol for "providing us with great entertainment" over the years.

Nicknames
Bob Orange, Ned Socks, Les Carpet...just some of the nicknames used in local mining communities, says John.

Spooky experiences
Andy tells of the ghost "wearing lots of petticoats" who would sit on the end of his bed while Denise encounters a "spirit with a sense of humour"!

Latest photo
John's photo, taken from a high rise block of flats in Flint, shows the sun rising over the river.

Good Times in Wrexham
The Good Times music festival took place in Wrexham last week. Take a look back at photos of the event.

Gresford bells to be heard again
One of the 'Seven Wonders of Wales', All Saints' Church bells have been silent since 2005. However repair work to the tower which houses the bells should allow them to be rung again.

Water waste rant
Ian is annoyed at being told to save water while others waste it.

Town talk
Rhyl - Ben: "Rhyl is slowly being turned around, and yes, it's going to take time."

Prestatyn's Ffrith beach - Andrea: "What about a proper boating lake, crazy golf, rock climbing wall, a decent quad biking track, maybe some archery..."

Flint - Man of Leisure: "I am appalled about the plans to re-locate the town's youth club to the pavillion leisure centre after the original building fell into disrepair and closed at the beginning of July."

Bands history plea
Ian wants to compile a history of Wrexham bands from 1960 to the present day. Can you help with information?

Calling local artists
We're looking to add new section profiling local artists to the site. If you're an artist working locally why not submit your profile?

Podcast - NE Wales Update
This week: the community of Prestatyn mourns a three year old girl, crushed to death when a breeze block wall collapsed. A Wrexham soldier tells Richard Evans how he won an award for an idea which could help lives in Iraq. The Arts Programme features the reopening of Ruthin craft centre after a £4.4 million facelift. Good Evening Wales hears from a Wrexham man who'll be doing one of the more unusual jobs at the Beijing Olympics. And Good Morning Wales finds out how the Froncysyllte male voice choir beat chart topping bands in a busking competition.
