Why we love Moel Famau so...

There has always been a lot of love for our [technically it's only a hill] and that affection stretches as far as Merseyside where an event is being held this weekend to get locals there to share stories and memories for a new book.

Merseysiders' love for the place grew because former bus company, Crosville Motor Company, started running tours from Liverpool to nearby Loggerheads in the 1920s where they also owned the cafe on-site.

And then later there was the construction of Colomendy outdoor education centre, owned by Liverpool council, and which became a childhood haunt for many Merseyside schoolchildren - something which still continues to this day.

The mountain seems to have a strong pull on all who can see it. There's a new a website dedicated to , there are no shortage as they climb to the summit and some stories have become folklore like Moel Famau's dancing ghost.
