Rebranding Rhyl using sun, sea, sand and 60s sex appeal

is asking for ideas about the best way to market Rhyl as a seaside destination now the restyling of the Prom is well underway and things are starting to look up for the resort.

As a local historian he found some old postcards, including this 'saucy 60s picture postcard'.


Colin says: "The card dates probably from the late 1960s/early 1970s when sex appeal was used to sell everything from cigarettes to motor cars; it's a kind of card which would appear everywhere with the name of the resort changed to suit."

Things are looking up for Rhyl what with recent redevelopments, plus today's news, .

Perhaps we could enlist the help of the Aussie PR machine which this week is estimated to have won something in the region of £55m of free global advertising with the idea to market an island caretaker's post as .

But we have to be careful how to put a positive spin on things [the island job didn't take much selling, let's be honest] as things can backfire - as has just happened in Wrexham and which I'll blog about later.
