The blog TalkLeft, which looks at crime news in the US from a liberal perspective, takes a close look at the jury decision that Moussaoui is eligible for the death penalty. It's a pretty that goes into the legal questions the jury had to answer.

But the post generated quite a bit of comment. A commenter named Narius had this to say:

So much work to decide whether to kill a CONFESSED terrorist.

Tim who contributes to the blog had this to say about the jury's decision:

I’m generally skeptical about the death penalty as a government policy, but this isn’t one of those cases and I am disgusted with the federal lawyer who screwed up and even put the decision in question. The sooner I stop seeing and hearing about this bit of scum the better.

It was widely believed, by those following the death proceeding closely, that the hardest burden for the government would be the death eligibility verdict. And, with the jury now unanimously in favor of eligibility, it seems only a matter of time until the proceeding results in an actual death sentence.

And Don Surber had on his blog:

As an opponent of capital punishment (it gives the government way too much power) I am nonetheless pleased with the verdict in the Zacarias Moussaoui case. Consider it assisted suicide.
