Coming up on Monday....

David Mazower | 13:21 UK time, Monday, 29 May 2006

If you have a comment on any of these topics, please get in touch - we'd love to hear from you.

We'll try and get some of the personal stories behind the desperate rescue effort to save survivors from the earthquake on the Indonesian island of Java. Hundreds of thousands of people have been directly affected, there are anxious relatives and friends waiting for news all over the world, and of course a major international relief effort is now underway.

On the other side of the world, Colombians have voted decisively for another four years of President Uribe. We're hoping our team out there can find us some voters to talk about the issues that motivated them, and their hopes for the future.

And then there's the baby that's been called 'the most eagerly awaited birth since Jesus Christ.' That's Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's new baby girl, Shiloh. What caught our attention was the impact it's making in Namibia, where the couple are staying at a luxury resort. The government has gone to extraordinary lengths to guard their privacy, even refusing visas to foreign journalists wanting to cover the event. We'll talk to the radio station that's asking listeners to vote on making the day of the birth a national holiday. And we'll try and find out what local people make of the special treatment the couple are getting.

We're also seeing what we can get on a couple of other stories - Amnesty's campaign for internet freedom, and a new survey of the major US networks that has highlighted the extent of 'fake' news - reports produced by commercial and government interests that get run as straight news stories.
