Friday thoughts

Peter van Dyk | 09:11 UK time, Friday, 26 January 2007

Good morning, how's it going? I'm looking around for stories but you're welcome to help.

My approach is a bit scattergun this morning but let's start with to try to ease pressure on girls over their body image.

There are fears that efforts to conform could be leading to eating disorders. What do you think of the Spanish idea?

One thing we look at when figuring out what you want to talk about is what the domestic Ö÷²¥´óÐã programmes are talking about.

Today, Five Live is asking "are criminals getting off lightly because British prisons are too full?"

This will certainly have people talking here today - Ö÷²¥´óÐã Secretary over prison overcrowding after a man who had child porn was spared jail by the sentencing judge. The Sun brands hims "brainless", declaring

But we were very British so perhaps you want a change?

The Asian Network's morning programme is asking "When does marriage become forced?"

Victims of forced marriage in the UK could get pay outs if a bill going through the House of Lords is successful. The bill also proposes that anyone found guilty of helping someone to be forced into marriage could be fined. Is this something that affects or interest you?

We've done a bit of movie news this week, but here's something I enjoyed on the Guardian site: Apparently the queen is not unique - I suppose Hollywood stars do get treated like royalty!

But how about this - a "friendship expert" has done some research and concluded that .

On to weightier matters (although what could be more important than friends, health and happiness?): Lebanon. The army imposed a to try to restore calm in the city and Hezbollah secretary-general has urged demonstrators to cooperate with the army and leave the streets. Meanwhile, donor countries at a conference in Paris have pledged after the Israeli invasion. Have you heard much from Lebanon lately?
