Tonight we talked about a senior US politican's trip to Syria, Zimbabwe's strike that didn't happen and it's five years since the end of Angola's civil war. Our man in Angola, Leo Rochas, is in the country with a sat phone - we'll be finding out how Angolans are feeling.
Nancy Goes to Syria.
Vanessa Heaney is the 主播大秀鈥檚 reporter in Washington: 鈥淣ancy Pelosi鈥檚 visit is breaking the US boycott of Syria. President Bush says the visit sends mixed signals. The US withdrew its ambassador to Damascus in 2005. He also says Syria is allowing fighters into Iraq.鈥
Gary in California: 鈥淪yria is undermining the elected government of Lebanon. It isn鈥檛 just the Bush government who is opposing Syria. France joined the US in trying to put sanctions on Syria.鈥
We spoke earlier to Samir al Taki who works for Centre for Strategic Studies in Damascus. He is pleased with Nancy Pelosi鈥檚 visit.

Zimbabwe: Were you Struck by the Strike?
Akwi is in Zimbabwe: 鈥淚 stayed at home. But I went into town. It was normal. Everybody went to work. There wasn鈥檛 any strike. People should put their heads together and do something strong.鈥
Stanley is in Harare: 鈥淭here is no impact at all. Zimbabweans are going about their lives normally. People scared to go out on the streets? It鈥檚 total nonsense. I have 65 employees and I had 100% attendance today.鈥
Angola: 27 years of war. 5 years of peace.
Rafael: 鈥淚t鈥檚 a cause for celebration. 5 years after the peace people have demonstrated to the attainment of that dream. People were fed up with the war. There is peace now but what is becoming visible is what I call privatisation of the state. The economic growth is not trickling down to the people.鈥
