On air: Why can't people ignore Pastor Terry Jones?

Is it understandable that Muslims around the world feel angry by what he's planning to do? Would there be similar outrage if Muslims were burning the bible? Or should this be viewed in the same way as President Obama sees it, as a "stunt?"
Pastor Terry Jones plans to stage an 'international Burn-a-Koran Day' at the Dove World Outreach Center. At a press conference he said,
'As you can imagine we have come under very much pressure in the direction of cancelling the event, but as of this time we have no intention of cancelling.'
Although the church only has about 50 in it's congregation, supporters have been posting copies of the Koran for him to put on a bonfire on Saturday and he now has about 200 copies.
So why are so many people around the world listening to, and getting angry aboutÌýthe plannedÌýactions of a very small number of people in one church in the world? And has the media coverage inflamed the situation?
