I'm planning some ideas for a documentary and part of it will involve interviews. Now at the moment I'm writing the script, but I'm stuck on writing in the sequences where the interviewees shall take their place. Now as I haven't secured people for interviews, how do I go about writing in their contributions without any clue what they'll say, who they'll be or whether their contributions will conflict with information for the audience that I've already scripted?

Wow! How fantastic to read an actual shooting script from Russell T Davies. Despite the fact the Doctor Who Shooting Scripts is very useful for budding writers (well, me really), it's fascinating to see how an actual script from the show looks on screen/paper with all the corrections, cut scenes and stage directions laid out.

A big thanks to Mr Davies for allowing me (well, us) to read this and a second big thanks to the Writersroom team for getting this up!

Absolutely fantastic to see the script. Nothing else to say other than Fantastic, fine, great, superb.

Wow! I know this was aired several weeks ago, but even reading the script still had me literally on the edge of my seat! I love Doctor Who and the choice of writer is always well made, and the writers, whether part of the regular team or not, are absolutely amazing and always pull off the huge feat of writing a 45 minute episode that never once flops.

I am a fan of Doctor Who i have the (figures, cards/toptrumps/exterminator/annihilator, pencil case, book of k-9)

A script is printed out on white paper until it's ready to go to the actors. At that point it becomes a shooting script.

Of course, you're still going to have to make changes. So after that, rather than sending out all-new copies of the script each time, you just send out the new pages.

This is done on coloured paper so the actors and crew will know which pages have changed.

This is absolutely fascinating reading. I'm a writer (fiction and non-fiction) as well as an ardent fan of "Doctor Who" and it was fascinating to read this the day after I re-watched "Smith and Jones"... I'd love to see some more scripts from the series ("The Shakespeare Code", "Father's Day" and "The Unquiet Dead" would be my personal choices). What was most interesting was seeing how the actors, especially David Tennant, had interpreted what was on the page for the screen.

This was a brilliant opening to what has been an amazing series so far, and it's great that Russell T Davies work is up for everyone to see as it should be. As I'm interested in acting myself and a massive fan of Doctor Who, it was really interesting to see what Doctor Who looks like on the page. Keep up the brilliant work Sir Russell!

Thanks very much Russell for allowing me to "hear" the script. With my poor hearing sometimes hard to pick up what is said on TV version (till the box set comes out with subtitles). Picked up extra bits I missed - so a pleasure to read/hear it properly. It was fantastic !!

Marvelous! Absolutely marvelous! Dr. Who is my insparation; The general writing of it is fantastic and this helped me out with some of my scripts tonnes. I hope that the Doccy Who scripts will continue to be displayed as they are absolutely amazing and exceedingly helpful. Thank you kind people at Ö÷²¥´óÐã for both producing such a great piece and then going one better and displaying it.

Did anyone else notice the mistake on the script (not in the programme itself) on page 32A? I did!

It's fantastic to read through, it has given me an idea of what to look forward to in college.

Keep them coming I love the series and think the effort put into it is well worth an NTA.
