EastEnders Tonight
If you possibly can, watch EastEnders tonight on Ö÷²¥´óÐã1 at 7:30pm.
If you can't make it, watch it on the Ö÷²¥´óÐã iPlayer.
Why?
Well, for starters it's written by Tony Jordan, and he's a bloody good writer.
For mains, because it's one of the ballsiest pieces of drama you're likely to see.
Because what we have here, essentially, is a one-woman show. A monologue by Dot Cotton, played by June Brown.
Think about that for a moment. One of the most popular dramas in the UK is going to spend half an hour with just one actor, talking.
That's not something you're likely to see anywhere else anytime soon.
Comments
It was, quite simply, some of the best British TV I can remember.
It had me in tears - and I don't watch the soap.
My Mum, in another part of town, was also sobbing.
I phoned her up after it and we spent five minutes alternatively sobbing and raving about the programme.
I wish I had it on tape.
Tony Jordan really hit the nail on the head and June Brown didn't put a foot wrong.
Sheer genius.
I am sure this is not the kind of programme to be going out early evening with sceens like last Friday's. I am in my 60's and this really upset me and I am not alone surely things don't have to be so nasty and in your face! This kind of episode only gives the weirdoos of this world ideas! I do watch E.E but was distressed by this sceen.
