CatherineÌýTateCatherine Tate's career has a huge great bulge in it, named after her. The Catherine Tate Show might define the actress and comedian for most people out there, but Tate's acting career exists virtually in a different universe. A stunningly versatile comic actress, Tate began with appearances in the usual series – Casualty – before specializing in comedy parts. Her most significant roles of the time were mostly Ö÷²¥´óÐã oriented ensemble pieces like Big Train and Wild West. She also appeared in some genuinely challenging projects, including Simon Munnery's Attention Scum as well as Jam. Even while making her own show, Tate, notoriously shy, wasn't big-dealing herself up. She was securing roles in film and TV that kept her pushing forward. The role of Donna in a pivotal episode of Doctor Who; parts in Starter For Ten and the title role in 2007's Mrs Ratcliffe's Revolution. Her eponymous vehicle, The Catherine Tate Show, has made her a star. Tate's characters have become part of the national consciousness – and specifically, Lauren the amazingly in-your-face teenager whose catchphrase 'Am I bovvered? Do I look bovvered?' is still echoing in the playgrounds of the country.
