  • Attend our Climate Creatives Conference on 2 October

    Join us online to discover fresh ways into the topic with practical tips from industry leaders including Charlotte Moore along with commissioners from the Ö÷²¥´óÐã, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky and Paramount.
  • We have published an opportunity for UK producers to pitch to produce two new series of the pre-school, live-action series Balamory. Originally produced between 2002 and 2005, the iconic series remains popular with families and children alike. We are looking for ideas that will engage the CBeebies pre-school audience on the CBeebies channel and on Ö÷²¥´óÐã iPlayer.
  • New creative diversity commitments announced

    Our new creative diversity commitments include raising representation targets for TV production teams across ethnicity, disability, and socio-economic diversity from 20% to 25% and investing a minimum of £80 per year in diverse content across television and radio. Crucially this investment will focus on aligning diverse portrayal, topics and storytelling on-screen with stronger representation within the company’s leadership and senior production roles to ensure our content is authentically reflecting audiences across the UK.
  • Signpost Entertainment wins the competitive tender to produce See Hear

    Following a competitive tender, Signpost Entertainment has won the contract to produce See Hear, the Ö÷²¥´óÐã’s magazine programme aimed primarily at our deaf audience.
  • Ö÷²¥´óÐã Studios retains the contract to produce UK coverage of Eurovision until 2028

    Following a competitive tender process Ö÷²¥´óÐã Studios has retained the contract to produce the Eurovision TV coverage for the Ö÷²¥´óÐã.
  • Ö÷²¥´óÐã Cardiff Singer of the World And Llais Festival join forces for Gala concert in 2025

    The Gala concert promises to be a celebration of voice and opera featuring some of the biggest names in classical music.
  • Ö÷²¥´óÐã Annual Report: Delivering for audiences and transforming for the future

    The Ö÷²¥´óÐã’s annual report shows a year of creative excellence and transformation against financial pressures and a challenging media market.
  • Outcome of the competitive tender to produce DIY SOS

    The Ö÷²¥´óÐã announced today that South Shore has won the competitive tender to produce DIY SOS, the Ö÷²¥´óÐã’s hugely popular home renovation programme. The contract is for 6 x 60’episodes per series, for 2 years (12 episodes in total) commencing with delivery from late Spring 2025.
  • Whisper North win the competitive tender to produce Ö÷²¥´óÐã Sports Personality of the Year

    The tender was launched in January and from the field of shortlisted tenderers, Whisper North’s bid scored highest against the published criteria. Whisper North will begin producing Sports Personality of the Year from 2024 and will work closely with Ö÷²¥´óÐã Sport to ensure the effective and successful delivery of the programme.
  • Comedy sitcom project: new development opportunity for UK producers

  • Ö÷²¥´óÐã Comedy and Screen Scotland announce co-ventures to support the comedy sector in Scotland

    Ö÷²¥´óÐã Comedy, Ö÷²¥´óÐã Scotland and Screen Scotland have announced that they will co-fund a new narrative comedy pilot to be produced in Scotland and co-fund two new Scotland-based development producer placements with established comedy production companies.

    We have formalised our application process for additional Ö÷²¥´óÐã access funding, and to help grow our understanding of access requirements we are now asking all our producers to provide more detail about their anticipated access costs at the point of commission and report on the final costs incurred at the end of production in our access reporting form.

  • As part of our regional partnership scheme we are supporting Wales-based indie Sixteen Media to house a part time development producer for up to 12 months. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in scripted TV and radio, a good knowledge of the comedy scene in Wales and a passion for championing and working with Welsh writing talent. This is a fantastic opportunity for mid-level comedy creatives to up-skill and develop their comedy expertise. Applications are open and full details are available on the Sixteen Media website.
  • Ten Pieces commissioning opportunity

    Ö÷²¥´óÐã Ten Pieces is launching a new list of music written exclusively by women composers and are seeking to commission five-minute films introducing each of the 10 pieces. The deadline for ideas is 3 April 2024.
  • PiCoS pitching system launches

    The Ö÷²¥´óÐã’s new pitching system PiCoS is now live and all proposals previously within Ö÷²¥´óÐã Pitch have been migrated across. Users will need a Ö÷²¥´óÐã Login account to sign into PiCoS. Find out more about the new system.
  • Blue Peter invitation to tender published

    Download the invitation to tender for the production of Blue Peter, which is being awarded as a two year contract with transmission from April 2025.
  • Eurovision Song Contest invitation to tender published

    Download the invitation to tender for the production of the Eurovision Song Contest semi-finals and grand final which is being awarded as a two year contract with transmission from May 2026.
  • Sports Personality of the Year invitation to tender published

    We've published the invitation to tender for the television production of Sports Personality of the Year for 2024 and 2025, with an option at the Ö÷²¥´óÐã’s discretion to extend to 2026 and 2027.

  • Write Across Birmingham and the Black Country scheme open for applications

    Apply for the eight-week development programme designed to support emerging writers and creatives living full-time in Birmingham or the Black Country at the early stages of their writing careers. Deadline 5 March
  • Blue Peter, Eurovision Song Contest, Sports Personality of the Year and Cardiff Singer of the World to be put out to competitive tender

    Tenders for Blue Peter, Eurovision Song Contest and Sports Personality of the Year will be published next month, with the invitation to tender for Cardiff Singer of the World to follow later this year. The Ö÷²¥´óÐã will retain all rights for the shows and they will continue to be shown on the Ö÷²¥´óÐã, but the tendering process will decide which producer makes the programmes.
  • Ö÷²¥´óÐã Comedy Collective Bursaries open for applications on 11 January

    Our supercharged bursary scheme offering 10 places to up-and-coming comedy writers, producers, directors and editors who’d like to develop their careers in scripted comedy. The scheme is open to anyone who has had at least one previous credit in any genre across any platform, and each bursary winner will receive up to £10k worth of paid shadowing on a Ö÷²¥´óÐã comedy production, along with an allocated production mentor and a £5k development grant to put towards new material or further support.
  • Ö÷²¥´óÐã announces recipients of Small Indie Fund 2024

    The new cohort of 57 small companies includes 44 with at least two individuals from under-represented groups in leadership roles and 38 based outside of London.
  • Ö÷²¥´óÐã Comedy Grants open for applications on 11 January

    £5k grants for targeted comedy outreach and inclusion activity across the UK. Focussing on under-represented groups or those from across the UK, the grants aim to increase Ö÷²¥´óÐã Comedy’s engagement with organisations, groups and projects that support growth, connectivity and increase engagement in comedy. We have 10 grants available.
  • Our Lives commissioning opportunity

    Invitation to pitch for three stand-alone half hour documentaries reflecting contemporary life in England from producers based in England. Deadline for ideas: 20 December 2023
  • DIY SOS and See Hear invitations to tender published

    We’ve published invitations to tender for the flagship home renovation programme DIY SOS and the monthly magazine programme aimed primarily at our deaf audience See Hear. Both opportunities are open to all producers who fulfil the specific eligibility criteria for each tender and are to produce and deliver the programmes on two-year contracts.

  • Ö÷²¥´óÐã Film announces Associate Producer Programme

    The Associate Producer Programme will see Ö÷²¥´óÐã Film fund the placement of emerging producers on up to eight Ö÷²¥´óÐã Film productions per year, with particular emphasis on supporting those from under-represented groups.
  • Ö÷²¥´óÐã and Channel 4 to launch freelancer support programme in partnership with the NFTS
