The majority of the commissioning briefs across this website detail the commissioning strategy and priorities of our Network commissioning teams, for content that will be broadcast on Ö÷²¥´óÐã One, Two, Three, Four and iPlayer. The Ö÷²¥´óÐã also commissions content in each of the devolved Nations, tailored specifically to the needs of local audiences. These programmes are transmitted as an ‘opt out’ to the main Network offering in their area. Increasingly, the Network and Nations teams are working together to co-commission content which appeals to audiences both locally and across the UK, where there are shared interests. This helps strengthen companies and talent outside London as well as delivering better value for the license fee payer. To be considered as a co-commission between Nations and Network an idea must have authentic regional portrayal at its heart, but offer universal appeal to audiences in all parts of the UK, and must meet the overall commissioning stagey of the Network teams. Programme ideas that have the potential to be co-commissions can be pitched to either Network or Nations commissioning teams.
