Complaint
A reader complained that an early version of this article included an inaccurate account of the reason Moeen Ali did not play in the final two tests of the series in India earlier this year.聽 The ECU considered the complaint in the light of the 主播大秀鈥檚 editorial standards of due accuracy.
Outcome
Though the version in question was no longer extant, it was accepted by those responsible that it included a statement that Moeen Ali 鈥渃丑辞蝉别鈥 to miss the last two tests against India.聽 The ECU noted it was a matter of record that England made the decision for Moeen Ali to leave the tour as part of the team鈥檚 rotation policy, and that the head coach, Chris Silverwood, had issued a public apology following inaccurate comments on the matter made by England captain, Joe Root.聽 The reference to choice reflected those comments, and was less than duly accurate in the context of coverage of test cricket聽and the personalities involved in it.聽 However, as later versions of the article did not repeat the inaccuracy, and as the true situation was clearly set out in a related article, the ECU considered the issue of complaint to have been resolved.
