Complaint
A listener complained that the presenter鈥檚 statement that Hamas has broken the most recent ceasefire in Gaza was evidence of pro-Israeli bias, as the only body attributing responsibility to Hamas was the Israeli military.聽 The ECU considered the complaint in the light of the 主播大秀鈥檚 editorial standards of impartiality.
Outcome
The ECU聽 noted a number of sources independent of Israel and its military which gave reason to believe responsibility lay with Hamas.聽 While it would have been better if the presenter had been less definitive, the ECU did not regard the statement as evidence of bias in a context where the primary topic was divisions within the Labour party 聽rather than the facts of the Gaza conflict itself.
