主播大秀

I'm Alex, I'm 19 and I'm this year's 主播大秀 Blast reporter for Cornwall.

Cornwall is a fantastically varied and photogenic place. The contrasts between the wild rugged coastlines, secluded moorland and the very different Cornish towns are striking. I'm keen to show that Cornwall is home to a wide range of people, and a great variety of events. And, of course, brilliant pasties!

The position of Cornwall鈥檚 Blast reporter immediately appealed to me, because this county is a lively centre of activity and its variety makes it a pleasure to travel around. While some areas have retained their traditional activities and values for decades, others have been at the forefront of dramatic changes. You only have to compare the long established fishing industry, with the increasingly vibrant interest in surfing in the county.

Music is a big passion of mine. I'm in a band, and have been since the age of eleven, although my position is always changing. At the moment, I'm the drummer and the lead singer. It's often difficult to find gigs, but we enjoy playing music just for the sake of it. My experience has made me aware of the pleasures and difficulties in taking part in creative activities and I'm very supportive of those who want to get involved at any level.

I will do my best to report on, and promote the many exciting events happening in Cornwall, which I believe is growing in its national reputation as a centre for cultural and youth oriented activities.

I'm really looking forward to my work as the Blast reporter for the county, and aim to highlight the many and varied attributes of Cornwall.
