Sent here to lead you to rock 'n' roll glory, The Way have been together since 2001 when they formed with the intention of writing catchy rock songs. Five years later they've now got a new lineup and a large and ever-growing fan-base.
New additions to the band听are the legendary Drunk Dan (drummer), who was "born from lava in the name听of rock", and lead-axeman Mandz, who's highly regarded for his fast fingering.听Band veterans, Chris (lead singer) and Steve (bassist) are excited by the fresh听look, sound and attitude brought in by the talented newcomers. The Way are known around the Coventry area for their catchy back-catalogue of rock songs, such as Katie听Kissed The Boys and The Secret and their energetic live performances at听events such as the recent Rock Synchrony at The Golden Cross, They've also played at many other venues up and down the UK including London's Rock Garden, The Barfly听in Cardiff and The Academy in Birmingham. --- Genuine star potential Radio One's Jo Whiley is quoted saying the band have "Genuine star potential", and our very own Bob Brolly describes their sound as "real music right in front of you."
Working with producer John Rivers (Ocean Colour Scene, Specials, Buzzcocks), The Way recorded A Flashback From Friday in Leamington's Woodbine studios. Since then singer Chris tells us they've been "scratching听away at several major label's doors." August听has been put aside for the band to write new material in the prospect of setting up a UK tour, and then from September onwards, fans can expect a lot from the lads,听 including more gigs, more songs, and more recordings. See The Way play live You can see them play at the Actress & Bishop in Birmingham on 2 September and the Jailhouse in Coventry on 21 October.
