In January 2007 Atousa Goudarzi听 travelled from the UK to India to inspire school children and teachers in Delhi and a number of deprived rural villages.

A final year Phd student in Radio and Space Plasma Physics, Atousa is passionate about science education. She is working on the effects of solar wind on the Earth magnetosphere and wanted to share some of this research on Space Physics with Indian teachers and students.

She was concerned to hear that India still experiences great poverty and suffers from inconsistent state education. Believing Engineering and Science is of particular interest to Indian students, she wanted to fuel their potential of contributing to the development of global science and technology.听She hoped that visiting schools in rural areas, enthusing teachers and providing materials, she might even inspire some students to pursue a career in the field.
