They were born in Coventry, they live in Coventry and the Kombat Breakers have done Coventry proud.

Kombat Breakers

The group is made up of seven young boys who claim to be 鈥渘ot just break-dancers but overall entertainers鈥�. The group of friends were brought together in 1999 with the help of a youth group that they attended at the time and from then on they have gone from strength to strength.

The Kombat Breakers first began by doing road show after road show and numerous performances in schools. It was not until Coventry鈥檚 Belgrade Theatre really pushed them to start doing it as a business that they really took off. After taking the theatre鈥檚 advice they then got a grant from the Princes鈥� Trust and Leggy, a local company in Coventry.

When talking to Leeroy Bailey about their accomplishments to date he said, 鈥淲hat started out as an idea has now turned into reality through a combination of hard work and grabbing the opportunities when they came along.鈥�

The crew of seven recently achieved national recognition when they reached the final of ITV鈥檚 Britain鈥檚 Got Talent. Where they just narrowly missed out on the 拢100 000 prize money and the chance to perform in front of the Queen at the 2007 Royal Variety Show.

Although they were not the overall winners they did however manage to put a smile on the face of judge Simon Cowell and we all know that isn鈥檛 an easy task. Former newspaper editor, Piers Morgan was also on the judge鈥檚 panel and after their energised performances on the show he said, 鈥淵ou guys remind me of Lewis Hamilton- you鈥檙e fast, you鈥檙e British and you鈥檝e got talent.鈥�

Over the years the Kombat Breakers have acquired thousands of fans including Coventry鈥檚 Lord Mayor, Councillor Dave Batten who has said that they 鈥渁re fantastic role models to young people all over the country and it鈥檚 simply brilliant that they come from Coventry and are really proud of the fact.鈥�

Since the huge success that they had on Britain鈥檚 Got Talent, the boys have gone on to tour with the likes of Busted, Blue and Christina Aguilera and managed to get themselves a sponsorship from the Cassidy Group.

I think it鈥檚 fair to say that from being ordinary school boys and youth workers the Kombat Breakers have become true superstars!
