What lyrics make you go radio ga ga?

Love to love you baby!

What do the words in your favourite song mean to you? Did they act as the soundtrack to a definitive moment in your life?

Do they remind you of a time you would rather forget, or throw you back to the best summer of your life?

If your favourite lyrics make you go ‘radio ga ga' or if they make you want to 'blame it on the boogie' then share them with us!

Strong Impact

A set of great lyrics should have a strong impact on people. They should move, inspire and speak to its listeners. They can make you laugh, make you cry or make you strut your stuff on the dance floor. But what we want to know is what are your favourite lyrics and why?

Some of the musical greats have performed a selection of the most memorable lyrics in history, some of which are the cause for their success. A good song can propel a singer to a superstar - whatever the genre. Britney Spears, Nirvana, Queen and Guns ‘n’ Roses - to name a few - are musicians who's profiles rocketed after huge hit singles with great, catchy lyrics.

Some lyrics last a lifetime, songs that have been with us over many generations are still sung to this day. But what is it about those types of songs that makes them so irreplaceable? Will we ever hear another set of words as strong as "I did it my way" or "I will always love you?"

Sing-a-long classics

Great songs stay entwined in society because they are sing-a-long classics and lots of people can relate to them, making them timeless throughout the years. If lyrics have an effect on you, evoke a reaction or just get stuck in your head, then they have done their job.

Back over to you! Leave a comment at the bottom of this page with your all-time favourite lyrics and tell us what they mean to you.

As you know, The Promise by Girls Aloud makes me think of Christmas 2008! No idea why - I think we just played it a lot.
