New year, new Rota thread..........
We have volunteers to open up for the next three months:
January: Rusty
February: gj
March: Dougal
I'll do April
Note to self put it in diary.
Would any one mind me opening it on the night of the 31st. I'm going to be mega busy at work so it'd be easier.
Cheers

ooh, summer cats.
Gentle eyes
that see so much,
paws that have
the quiet touch.
Purrs to signal
"all is well"
and show more love
than words can tell.
Graceful movements
touched with pride,
a calming presence
by our side.
A friendship
that will last and grow -
small wonder
why we love them so..
Claws that shred my favourite things
Wants some catfood, how she sings!
Hogs the bed, hogs the sofa
She's just a little furry loafer!
And I'll do August!
(Nice pomes folks)
Jo x
I'll do September.

Anyone free to open the November Cat Club in a few days?
Rusty
For I will consider my Cat Jeoffry....
For in his morning orisons he loves the sun and the sun loves him.
For he is of the tribe of Tiger.
For the Cherub Cat is a term of the Angel Tiger.
For he has the subtlety and hissing of a serpent, which in goodness he suppresses.
For he will not do destruction, if he is well-fed, neither will he spit without provocation.
For he purrs in thankfulness, when God tells him he's a good Cat.
For he is an instrument for the children to learn benevolence upon.
For every house is incomplete without him and a blessing is lacking in the spirit.
Strange man; wonderful poem.

Well if none of the servants can be tailed to I suppose a cat had better do it...
Dougal
If you want a job well done, Dougal, ask a cat.
Ahem, I have a very heavy schedule over the next few months, but I'm volunteering to open up in February.
Stripey-Cat, aka Buzy Lizzie
That's beautiful, gj, cats and music.
Mind you, I was a bit puzzled when I first clicked on your link because I was listening to DID at the same time, and Frank Sinatra completely drowned out Britten. Was waiting for a punchline.........
Was a bit worried at the beginning that the b&w might roll a bit far and fall too. Was just imagining the look of "I *meant* to do that" on its face afterwards.
Rusty
If you tell me what to do I will open up one month.
Flakes x
Great, Flakes.
Just put "[Month] [year if you like] Cat Club" in the 'your discussion' box.
Then copy and paste the usual spiel on the previous message 1, except for amending the link to the last month's club to - er - the new last month's one, if you see what I mean.
Then just add your own chat at the bottom, if you want.
Simples. [Appropriate sucking/clicking SFX].

Oh boy, I'm sure I shouldn't be such a wimp, either, I ought to be able to cope with opening up for a month.
Shall we say December? Ooh heck, what if I forget?
laRA
righty O then am I Miss November Rusters ?
Flakes x
I am off cats at the moment, both Claude and Trev are in big trouble. Claude led Trev astray and after 2 hours from 3am they managed to break a perfume bottle, kill two poor spiders had a fight on the bed, sit on my head annoy the doggie so much she wanted to go outside for a rest and ...
they are now looking innocent and sleepy in thier fav daytime spots. I just thought Trev at nine would try and set a good example for Claude the hooligan clearly that is not the case(excmark)

Tee hee
Billy Boy
Um, well on a first come first served basis, as it were, Flakes, I think you are Miss January, if you are free then. So we have:
November - Dougal
December - laRA
January - Flakes (if that is okay)
Never mind about the perfume - I bet the room smells luvverly (exc. mark).
Rusty
January it is then Rusty.
Flakes x
It was a modern perfume bottle with stopper more an object d'art than anything smelling nice.
Claude has a complete inability to look guilty even when the evidence is clear for all to see. At least Trev rushed off up stairs and waited till he thought I was asleep before hopping back on the bed.
Flakes xx
Billy boy your not supposed to encourage them.

Flakes,
You KNOW you'll forgive them.
THEY know you'll forgive them.
Hope it wasn't one of them there really expensive ones though.
I saw some beauts at the Limoges Flea market, but they were sixty euros. Art Nouveau.
P'raps better have this discussion elsewhere, aksherlly.

Well, the list of common mistakes that /some/ people (ahem) have made includes:
Opening it in TB instead of TVH
Calling it last month's club instead of this month's
Not calling it anything at all (yeah that was a good one)
Forgetting to check the links and getting them all @rseways
Don't fret - we're still here despite the cock-ups.
gj
x
Ah, I loved it when it opened up in TB. We all lounged around for ages, having wine and crisps, before decamping back to our rightful place.

Now who was it who opened up in TB? Let me think and eat a couple of crisps... and maybe have a glass of wine.
It wouldn't have been... no, not possible.
Promise I won't do that in December, will I? Astrid, promise you won't let me do that, will you?

We can't go too many months with servants making the opening speech. After all this thread is all about us cats - if it wasn't for us there would be no thread.
Dougal [handsome, glossy, black cat]
oui oui LaR

Most of you will have heard the sad news that our dear greenjewel died last week.
gj was due to open up the March Cat Club. Roots, who knew gj before the Cat Club was even a twinkle in anyone’s eye, will be stepping into the breach and will open up in March.
Rusty
Thank you Roots.

Thanks, Roots.
