the son of a friend of mine has gone missing - he suffers from depression and it isn't known if he has been taking his medication. He was last seen in London.
His cousin has set up a facebook site and asked everyone to circulate the news - I've put the link here but am not sure of this might be modded. I'd be grateful if people could circulate this - he is a musician so any music links might help.
Many thanks
bc

Yes she has - but of course you need to know that someone is missing to look on the missing persons' website.
Thanks for your good wishes.

My son went missing; he has schizophrenia. His section was reinvoked and the missing police unit found him in London within twenty-four hours. I had not thought of London as he lives on the south coast. The contact we were given was very supportive.
I do hope you all get good news soon, bc. There is a missing persons page in the Big Issue; don't know how soon you could get a photograph in there.

I hope that he can be found, bc. Younger Piglet went missing 3 and a half years ago and I know what h*ll it is for everyone. We have never heard where he was, I don't think he knows. I can't even remember how he was found, just that he was.

Barefoot, if it's music, then a MySpace page might also be useful. THat seems to be the really big social networking site for music & musicians.

I put the link on another forum I belong to, saying why I was particularly touched by the appeal - several there replied they had sent the appeal on. The internet can be a wonderful thing.

I've just heard that he was in hospital in London for a few days before being moved to one in his home town. I presume this was when they found out he was registered as missing - no 'official' action was taken until earlier this week. I guess it shows the need to alert the right people ASAP in such cases.
Anyway thanks again everyone.

Hi westie - was wondering why you think the page needs amending. The top of the page says he's been found.
Sorry - reading that back it sounds a bit harsh and I don't mean it like that -just a gentle enquiry.

You don't sound harsh at all :0)
The top of the page still says Missing Person .... but you are right there is then a short news flash saying he has been found before it then goes on describing that he is missing ...
I guess I was just checking his picture to make sure I was replying to the post I had read about someone who appears to be delightful and so I probably didn't read the messages as closely as I should have.
Apologies :0)
I'm so glad he has been found safe and sound.
