Write
Create a poem
wave thoughts
images
weave lines
make waves
I am on pre-mod but will reply eventually
"My life began again".
It's something you hear in a song.
You think "Oh yeah?".
Then suddenly, miraculously
You're the one saying it.
Feels good.
Not sure if this really qualifies as a poem. Just thought I'd share a bit of my happiness.
I am confused.
There are two,
Where there was one.
A fork in the river:
Which one will I take?
Does it matter?
It does.

When it starts to rain I
shall be the first person to
say, Well, the rain is comin' down

Coo, thanks Lola.
Am too lazy to write often though. Would rather read the works of others! (i.e. this MB).
Blows nose
by the phone.
Tears,
wiped with kitchen roll
waiting
dead battery?
or just dead end.
All roads are the right road,
All roads are the wrong road.
There is only the one destination.
Where we count the tears,
And smiles.
Lola, fellow modee....
This is very smart, this 25 words.
You can say everything in 25 words,
Everything, ever that needs to be said.
茅茅茅茅茅hhh raining again
There's Woof
wet in a puddle

Ouch, Lola, I felt the physical pain of that feeling.
the ice came
and melted into La Seine
a French fleuve
777 kilom猫tres of rain
Where are the posters?
Those regulars
Holiday?
Didn't pay the electricity bill?
Sorry I was gone so long
family calls from far away
working hard
missing you
bisous
I had very great hope for this thread,
Seems everyone is in bed.
Wringing their beads,
Perusing thier deeds.
Maybe both, while holding their heads.

This is what is going on with me now:
looking at ebay
can't decide
the price to charge for my item
the hens run into the living room
the cockerel tries to bite em
shellgl
Ephemera
A butterfly
A breath
A kiss
A thought
A little hand
Enclosed in mine
A final turning back
To wave farewell
A love
A life
joy y'all
boundless happiness
gay laughter ringin' in the ears
music in our smiles
together again
no missin'
no tears
no phones
just lookin' at each other
for a little while
before I gotta go home

The world is Green, but
I am Orange.
Rinky-tinky on Purple glass...

Your lovely thoughts will be echoed soon by many after the school holidays
wind kisses my cheek
scissors click
slivers of hair fly
she whisks away the towel
I smile
nod at my reflection
uncaring
she cut it
I tried to compose this
poem while I was running
but I think I should sit
still while I write.
Was this a spider's work?

Mid-August - Mourning Summer's passing.
My horse forges through the tall bracken,
Green dying bronze.
Heavy rowan berries pull the branches into curves,
Purple heather coruscaates,
In the dying light.

You, she said,
Are not the way I saw you
From your letters.
Not at all.
Strangely, she said,
I think I like
This version better.

Lola, are you bored with your suggestion already?
I have always liked Haiku
Myself. It lends itself neatly and well
To elegant description of cats.

There's more bread,
there's more I Can't Believe It's Not Butter,
there's more Patum Peperium,
(aka Gentleman's Relish)
all in the kitchen, just waiting...
:op

Woofti, there is nothing so admirable in this world as a Gentleman's Relish!
There are some absolute corkers coming out here aren't there?
The sensible one from Kish -
entitled Three Cats in an August garden
Sun-scented silver tabby
Stretches her ruffled belly in the grass.
Blue and peach noses kiss in the shade.
A rumple of wind.
Cats scatter.
Eagles screaming against windy skies
South-easterly fighting me for breath
marram grass tearing my ankles
heart's ease starring the machair
sea ever-changing and changeless

freshly laudered cotton
smells long ago forgotten
come rushing back to me
old songs refrains
go round and round my brain
and I sing along in nostalgic memory....
Part of a longer poem that I wrote many years ago.
Sorry I have not been on here for months now, I am not in control of the muse, it's capricious, sometimes I write prolifically, other times not at all.
Lola in France has now returned to being Suepet in England.
Monique Newley, don't worry about it, we are happy to have you and others whenever they come.
It's been a long day.

The 25 words was a good idea, Suepet. Thanks - sleep well.
Carrick, could you write more for us about horses please, so much feeling there.

I'll bear it in mind, Suepetal, but the Pegasus poem made me write it; it wasn't something that I did totally consciously.
I could write a poem about anything I was asked to, but if omething with real feeling, I'll be open and let it come to me.
Hope you are properly rested now, C-B x
back to warm windy
raindrops in August
suitcase emptied
washing outside
blowing through clouds
dashing out to bring it in
home to Newcastle
missing them already
kids
what am I without them
they are everything I have
they came from me
I am
therefore
they are
where does that leave me now?
Just thinking that the other day,
Now the kids have gone away.
There is a space that's hard to fill,
One thinks:
...over the hill.

It is an ancient Mariner
Don't heed him! Flee, I say!
If you let the loon start ranting on
We'll be here all bloody day
Sorry - in a silly mood. Thanks for kind comments earlier, and well done all so far.
I feel another challenge coming up.... continue with the 25 words but what about a thesaurus challenge too?
Write a short verse dropping in a word/words you have never used before in the correct context. It could be fun.
To Suepetal
They are because you are.
In them you live many lives,
Adding to each one your uniqueness
And the priceless legacy of your love.
new challenge example;
From out my mouth
the words do fly
No neophyte am I
August
Shop windows say
鈥淏ack to school鈥,
or
鈥淪hop early for Christmas鈥
And in the supermarket
Hot cross buns -
But we must buy seasonal veg.

Thank you, that was a lovely reply.
Five and twenty words
Make it impossible to
Write just one haiku.
But maybe, with care,
the syllables could slither
neatly into two.
