I see that we are approaching the 2000 post mark on Candle 3 so am opening up number 4 before we get closed down.
So a candle for all who need one right now for whatever reason, good or bad.
I'm lighting a good one for Elder Berry - just read on her facebook page that she is the first "victim" to give her senior speech at school and has no idea what to talk about. She's a bright intelligent girl and I'm sure will come up with something, but in the meantime a candle to light her way in choosing a topic.

lighting a candle for a very dear friend whose husband died suddenly of a heart attack today, no symptoms, no warning, a shock to us all.
Also brought to me vivid thoughts of my mum, it is her birthday on Saturday she would have been 72, it is a year on October 3rd since she died.
A candle for those feeling loss and for anyone who needs comfort and hope.

Let me gently bring the candles from the last thread over here. Let us hold their intentions in the light. My particular one is for Westie's nephew - it touches me as I have been there. I well remember that when the last thread started my nephew's death was very recent and the candles were brought across.
I'm lighting a new candle for my Elder Piglet who has just seen a chink of light at the end of a very dark place. May he reach it and begin to rebuild his life.

A candle for you, Betsi, sorry to hear you're having such a difficult time and hope things get better soon.
Also thinking tonight of everyone else here who's having difficulties. Big bright candle for you all.

Little one for me too, if you would. Rock bottom about sums it up, and now I can't use my right arm (tennis elbow, cross-threading).
Desktop candle still lit for westie...and others.

After midnight, but have just lit a real and lovely lavender candle for you all...
And ask for your light for my mother, whose ECG today showed worrying things, and my son, who is facing surgery after other treatments have failed.
And, please, for me, who am not quite coping with everything that life is throwing me at the moment.

A candle that you may each find new hope and strength to move forward.
Looks like a lot of us need candles right now as in not very good places emotionally and otherwise.
God bless him Fr John called me tonight to check up on me and found himself on the other end of a crying jag.
Betsi, one for you and definitely one for Westies nephew.

My candles are shining bravely for all in need - for those suffering themselves, the carers and the families who also suffer and endure.

A candle for all.

Betsi, DD, Jane, Dresden, Westie.
Even in the darkest moments, that tiny spark of hope and life is incredibly tenacious.
May it grow within each of you in the days to come.
You are right Pat, that little spark is tenacious and growing and in recent days I have often thought of the Footsteps poem. I firmly believe that Him upstairs is with me and is holding me in the palm of his hand. And the RL support from Fr John and others and the love that has come my way from ML only reinforces that belief.
And my candles are burning brightly for all who need them for whatever reason, good or bad
Just thinking of all people who have so much sadness in their lives. Far too numerous to mention
May things improve for you all

anagramladysin ... for courage in worrying times. :0)
SO my news is absolutely brilliant ... I think the easiest thing is to copy my sister in law's post ... she has a Blackberry and so is able to email etc from whereever she is. It is so lovely to be able to keep in touch with family on the other side of the world. I'd just like to thank you all for keeping this in your thoughts.
So this is her email:
Charlie (not his real name) called me today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently the guy who I managed to trace him through gave him quite the lecture about his Mom coming out to BC etc. So I shall be meeting with him. Thank goodness. Difficult not to yell at him but I've promised him I wont!!!

Yup, Jane, we just have to hope she doesn't murder him now!!!!
Thanks everybody :0))
Ahh she'll stop herself short of that Westie, but who could blame her? I wouldn't convict if on the Jury. I think temporary insanity and probation would be the verdict.

It is such a relief. I just hope she finds him in reasonable condition and happy. I remember several years ago she gave him a mobile and said she'd pay for the contract but subsequently he said he lost it ... presumably he sold it. The idea was he would ring her once a month to just check in.
Maybe didn't sell it Westie. Depends who he's been hanging around with - my sister kept getting hers stolen by not very nice pals along with other belongings

Aaah! Nephew was supposed to ring my sis in law to arrange where they would meet but he didn't. She is going anyhow and has an idea where his workmates live, so as she says, if 'Charlie' wants to be found she will find him.
Still typing with fingers crossed.

You might want to assist your sis in law in killing him Westie but the main thing is that he is alive and safe and if she knows his work colleagues she will be able to find him. Might take time but she will do it and then you can all have a go at him about his inconsideration at causing your family such worry. And you can tell him that his absence has caused concern around the globe and candles to boot.
