  has apparently banned his six-year-old daughter from listening to Lily Allen.
  
  1. Why was she listening in the first place? Don't parents of little kids have any control over what they consume? We do.
  
  2. She would have been fine listening to any number of so-called dodgy musical combos. For example, the Stooges would have probably got past David's conveniently close scrutiny.

  dear god in heaven....since when did banning anything stop anyone listening or change their minds? better that he sat his daughter down and talked to her about the lyrics or whatever was bothering him.

  lily allen has good diction when she sings - you can hear every word. Perhaps his little daughter has been walking round the house singing inappropriate lyrics - bit embarrasing for posh dave. i wouldn't think it would do any lasting harm - the child is not going to understand it but basically parroting lyrics could be tiresome. It will only become an issue if he allows it to be...
  
  I used to censor my son's listening up to a point, parents do that sort of thing....quite normal imo..
  Son aged 6 used to listen to a tape called "hits for kids" and would walk round singing " what's he like mavis - e's a real tasty geezer ,here comes johnny reggae, lay on me..." which unaccountably was on of the said hits for kids..
  "it's not fair it's really not ok etc etc " is no worse to a six year old..
  He also used to enjoy "White lines" because it was popular at the time but had no idea about cocaine use and it is a good tune...why spoil it..
