To help me with my French I decided to tune into the French TV station TV5 and put on the subtitles. The subtitles duly came up but after two minutes the Sky box cut out and could not be switched on again for ten minutes.
This happens every single time without fail. Is there any technical reason for this?
Would anyone else like to try this? Please don't ask me to contact Sky because they are absolutely impossible to get hold and to talk to.
All answers carefully read.
Would this question be better placed in The Bull? You might get a better response. I don't even know how to turn subtitles on - if you let me know I might have a crack to see what happens.
Individual Sky boxes have their own quirks. Mine does things that no-one else's does.
Well it's me back. I worked out how to enable the subtitles and had a little experiment. Nothing went wrong with my box, so I think it's either a quirk with yours or maybe that particular channel.
Sorry, not much help, but I did discover that the subtitles, are heavily edited, several different colours and plonked right in the middle of the screen.
OK thanks. We're going to have to get on to Sky technicians with this one. My OH and I thought it might be something to do with copyright, but you can't print them off. If I find the cause I'll post it up here on the boards so that anyone having the same problem can see it.
One last suggestion, Hamstelroad, there's yards and yards of Q & A regarding Sky boxes here
I've found answers to technical problems here before, but it's a bit of a plough job to see if anyone's posted the right question.
Good luck
