    Hello.

    I'm an American.

    I don't like McDonald's, and I don't shop at Wal-Mart.

Actually, I'm quite cultured...which is highly unusual for an American, I know.

Are Americans allowed to enjoy Ö÷²¥´óÐã programming, especially The Archers??

I hope so, because I do! smiley - smiley

Kim, I think you have posted this in the wrong place. The Village Hall is for 'special interest groups' (clubs, and that kind of thing). I suggest that you re-post on 'Discuss the Archers' , if you do indeed listen. I expect you will get rather more of a welcome there!

    Hello Kim!

I like McDonald's (and BurgerKing) but have never been to the US so have no idea if I'd like Wal-Mart.

My favourite TV programme is Dexter (doesn't really fit with an Archers listener does it).

    Welcome.

Hi Kim - I'm one of several posters on this board living in the US although I am British. There are a number of Americans among us though so you are not alone and are very welcome. As Bette says though the Village Hall is for special interests so either go to Discuss the Archers or venture into The Bull which is a more general discussion area.

Where do you live? I'm in New Jersey and we have posters living in Texas, California, NY, Indiana, Florida and one of the northern MidWest states.

.....and then there's me.....pretty new here too.

Brit, but live 1/4ish of the year in NC, 1/2 in the UK, rest....well anywhere the sun's shining & the £ is strong...never miss TA tho, wherever, OR CarTalk on a Sunday!

Suggest you email taylor cresswell our Host (sorry can't provide the link but browse poss N&Q?), to get this moved to Diss TA where more people are there to welcome you to the Unbelievable World of Ambridge (but I'd avoid the proffered Bridge Farm cut-price surprise-in-every-cone welcome ice cream for the mo). Note that you don't go to McD but p'raps you still like fast food? Avoid Tarm Archer's sausages anorl. Might be completely safe but who wants to give such a twonk their money? Pah! WalMart great for discount cough med stuff we can't get over here but I'm banned from shopping there - haven't got the necessary tonnage to be let in. WalMart shoppers are Seriously Huuuuge!

    Kind regards,

    Jay

Sorry for posting in the wrong section. I thought 'Americans Who Listen to Ö÷²¥´óÐã or The Archers' would be a special interest group. I figured if you weren't interested, you wouldn't read it!

Anyway, color me informed. smiley - smiley

    Thanks for the welcome.

Kim, I think you are in the right place. We have German, French, Benelux connections and so why shouldn't there be an American one?
Maybe just change the title of your thread.

I lived in the US for some years and my very best friend lives in Maryland. I met many Americans who loved all the Ö÷²¥´óÐã programmes on PBS. when I lived there - pre online listening - I missed Radio 4 very much. Did love A Prarie Ö÷²¥´óÐã Companion though. (That shows you how long ago it was.)

Look forward to seeing how many states are represented by Archers listeners!
