    .............or the dog house

the very fact that we're on our 6th Equestrian thread without out a major fall out is fantastic..... but over the last couple of weeks i feel that i've not been "getting it " with carrick.....
now i know it takes two to tango
and if i have inadvertently upset carrick with any of my posts ..
    .then i apologise...
.my post about "her mission" (over cyclists) was tounge in cheek..
.but she came back a bit heavy...................or am i being over sensitive....
like i say.. i don't want to leave the Tack Room ....hence this thread......

as the Pub lalndlord would say..."take it outside"

Boris, me ol' pal - it's a bit parky out here. I am usually the trouble maker (inadvertantly - poor sense of 'humour' and general grumpy old woman demeanour (sp?) ) in the tack room, but you never!

From my reading of my fave thread recently carrick is on a bit of a high with her new reins and the doors of her riding they have opened for her. She then had a run in with some rude cyclists who threatened her and Jem's safety. Being more proactive than I was she has contacted the cycle club in question. Brownie points from me and I wish she had kicked me up the nethers to do something about my ditch incident all those years ago - especially as with the benefit of hindsight it was the undoing of my lovely bay boy - not that it would have changed the outcome. . .

    Anyway,

I read your 'mission' post as tongue in cheek but perhaps carrick is on a real mission. I have not met carrick in RL and I am unsure if you have met - don't think you have - but could be wrong but from the bits carrick has said (and she has 'said' more recently) about her capabilities I think the public speaking bit is a tad too much of a push - think she would have rather you challenged her to the intermediate course at chatsworth. sww.

Would prefer you not to go - enjoy the cotswolod connies woodland and now valley hacks too much but as I have absolutely no loyalty to anyone but my tummy I will just go where the best buns are!

hugs to all who pop in here

Re read the above and hope no one is offended by my possibly wildly wrong assumptions and conclusions and interpretations of stuff.

    mwah!

    thanks Bay
nooooooooooo .... i don't want to leave but felt a bit of a thing between certain posts and thought i'd best start a sub thread to avoid souring the lovelly Tack room
as i say it takes two to tango and i'm aware that humour/irony / flippancy etc can be hard to get right on the board ... and sometimes goes misinterpeted.......

sooo extra double choc chips and the odd wagon wheel ..coming your way...

ps i've seen carrick in passing at the Tate a year or so ago...but not to speak to ....it was sooo busy there

Don't go boris I love hearing about cotswold connies, UW, grey,Jem and everyone.

I took what you wrote as tongue in cheek as well. I think carrick was shook up and upset, I know I don't like public speaking either I would have probably given you the same reply.

The tack room is one of the best threads and I've always appreciated the welcome I've had and I do have a soft spot for connies.

    Mitch x

BB, I saw this thread, and my first thought was "Oh no - but the equestrian thread is so good".

Don't worry, you haven't offended me, I still like and respect you, and all that soppy stuff!

If there was a problem for me, I'd tell you my side of it there and then, but there isn't! I'm quite happy to accept that we all have small differences of opinion - that's one of the things that make life interesting, I think.

Re the cycling issue, had a positive and friendly message from he business sponsor of the club re improving education to the members, have a friend who's a BHS Road Safety trainer, ewho's willing to help and who's contact details I've given them.

Bay is right - I wrote to her "Could I possibly give your name and phone number, as a BHS riding and road safety trainer, as you'd be a brilliant source of information for him?
(I've never received any formal training, so a lot of what I do and what I need from other road users is probably subconscious, with great gaps in it, and in any case, my speech can make me seem deficient, particularly if I was challenged or argued with.)"

BB, I'm sorry if I have offended you, I didn't mean to, and would you let me make you a cup of that beverage we can't talk about in Bay's hearing, back on the main thread? Please?

Skylark, we're still over on the equine thread - number 6.

Tack rooms do smell nice though!
