Waiting for some medical tests and results.

The thing that's being investigated/tested for is not life-threatening but would be life-altering.

    Feeling in limbo.

Part of me almost hopes that I do have the particular condition because it would explain a lot of minor symptoms that I've been experiencing,. The other part of me doesn't.

I have a friend who has been a bit of a hypochondriac all her life - always going to the doctor with imaginary ailments. She was diagnosed a few years ago with a serious but not immediately life-threatening blood disorder - and she has responded brilliantly to this. She has to take loads of medicine and have regular checkups but she seems to have coped brilliantly.

This story is just to say to you - whatever the outcome I'm sure you will be fine. Life is full of twists and turns......

    All the best.

I just wanted to say that having answers often lessens the problems by a certain degree. I hate it when people say "oh I know what you feel like" because they really, really don't, but I do have experience of being diagnosed with a life-changing illness. It has changed it, but without wishing to sound pious, I would say for the better in so many ways. 22 years ago when I was in your situation, waiting, I would never have believed I could say that.

I wish you all the luck in the world.

Do you know when you'll get the results? It's always a bit easier if you know the deadline, IMO.

I think Murph, my little dog pressed the send button. I did wonder why I had to wait to post, but being a numpty and not fit to be in charge of a box of nuts, didn't check to see if it went first time.
