Welcome friends Feline and Equine to your newly refurbished abode...
We have added extra comforts for you all- more Pashminas,Cushions,Rugs and all thing necessary for Feline comfort.Indeed all that you could wish for.
The staff have had some further training (not before time either in my opinion) and a fresh set of clothing... a new beginning.
I have also arranged improved comforts for our Equine,Draconic and Avian friends...... suitable celebrations this evening.
In the meantime the Buffet is available ....

Odd how the Flea Maid and the Tick Remover don't appreciate a tender young spring rabbit. I suppose there is no accounting for the lower orders.

Did someone suggest snake hunting? Did any of you kittens know that we were initially worshipped by the ancient Egyptians because of our skill in hunting snakes?
Oh, and of course they realised we were all gods and goddesses.

Has anycat noticed their human responding to signs of spring yet?
Mine has turned poetic and greeted me this morning with:
Spring is sprung
the grass is ris
I wonder where the pony is
Given that said HORSE was a couple of inches away from her, wondering how long it takes to mix breakfast, I wonder if she's Quite All There.

Mine's response to Spring was less poetic, Orsen, but at least it resulted in my being able to fully appreciate the vernal burgeoning which is happening.
She spent ages sorting out the fence, for the new paddock, and was cleaning out the water trough on that side, when she lifted a bucket of dirty water awkwardly (she's clumsy at the best of times, but her injured hand makes her worse) and damaged her back.
She got her priorities right, and completed the water, my breakfast and the haylage, and some fresh pasture, but was unable to accompany me on my proposed ranging around the countryside.
She will need complete retraining at this rate.

I imagine her language was reasonably poetic at the time?
You may be forced to give her a massage to return her to full efficiency. I recommend teeth (as in wither-nibbling) rather than hooves.

These human thingies can be pathetically inarticulate, I find - all she did was some unremarkable teeth-gritting.
She is usually pitifully grateful if I nibble her withers; I will nibble her lower back - than you for the suggestion.
At least I have some new spring grass, not much, but pleasant, so her suffering is not in vain.

I wouldn't credit her with that much control, Orsen.
She used quite colourful language 3 weeks ago, when her bad leg cramped up in the cold and buckled under her when she dismounted me. (I was of course statuesque and poised in a perfect square halt - she ruined the artistic impression).
I expect she was just trying to concentrate on all the duties she had to perform for me, and, as usual, lacked inspiration.

Huh, all this compaining about servants, but none of them are as bad as mine!
Not only has she failed to understand that food was not to my wishes and starved me for several days before finding something I could approve of, for the past two days she has attacked me with a comb!
She wrings her hands and tells me that I shall be looking more beautiful afterwards, but I fail to be grateful.
Well, maybe my ruff is a little more groomed, but I'm sure I could have sorted it out alone.

Mes amis, mes amours, je suis de retour!
Please excuse my absence, I have had such problems with my catputer, the dog and servants. [Heavy sigh] And I fear that there may be something amiss with my eyes - I read in the OP that the servants had been provided with new "cloning". Oh dear, the mere thought of this makes me feel quite ill.

It was "clothing", not "cloning".
Can you imagine a Fenelone clone???

Meanwhile, distant, recriminatory noises are heard. Some of them are muffled, inarticulate and generally complaining about the ill-treatment and cruelty poor servants suffer at the paws of their employers. Such sounds need not trouble delicate feline ears - they are of no consequence. Others are more intelligible:
"Outrageous lies ... telling me that the ceilidh was unavailable until Angela Merkel had signed the building permit for our new premises in person. Then pretending that a new Vassal Working Time Directive meant that you would only be at our disposal at certain times ...
Open the door, you imbecile ... really, I pity your poor students ... now, attend to your duties .... neeeeeeeeeeeeeeooowwwww'.

Thorky dear, I think all you can do is wait and see.....
My servant is very obsessed with it being 29 February tomorrow but that is only for the very tedious reason that she has to do her VAT return. I expect she will retreat into a darkened room and shut us out so we don't do helpful things like sitting on keyboards, papers etc.
She has asked me to ask you if your servant is around to talk on the telephone-wotsit-thingy on Thursday or Friday, but I suppose you can't be tailed to.
Off to get my beauty sleep
Good night
