Well in the absence of Kentishman, I am opening this thread - but please don't expect any expert opinions on that count! This is just a 'gentle' thread to follow the various tournaments over the year.

I am rather new to this, tbh. I only watched major matches that happened to be broadcast, until last year when I subscribed to streaming, that has enabled me to watch matches that I couldn't do hitherto - and have therefore watched up-an-coming players.

I have to confess that I tend to watch only the mens tennis, and rarely the womens or doubles, or vintage - so I feel a bit of a fraud about opening this thread smiley - erm

Thanks for opening up Bette and I look forward to your input on up and coming players.

I do check into the Ö÷²¥´óÐã tennis page from time to time so will add anything I glean from there.

Now that Britain has 2 promising women (Watson and Robson) I am expecting we will hear and hopefully see more of them. Like you I have been more interested in the men's game for some time now.

Heather Watson has gone out in the second round of the Pattaya Open in Thailand, beaten by a Latvian ranked 143 places below her.

However both her and Laura Robson's rankings have gone up since Melbourne. She is 40 and Laura 43.

Andy Murray remains at number 3 and still has a long way to overtake Federer for the number 2 spot.

Check out the Ö÷²¥´óÐã tennis page for more info.

Yes, I was just having a look at current rankings. Nadal is now the lowest (5th) he has been for years. I do wonder if he /will/ make a come-back.
