Beechgrove Garden starts Wednesday 2nd April at 19.30. Jim rules OK
On which channel? I used to watch it a couple of years (or more) ago when it was shown on Ö÷²¥´óÐã2 around 1 pm.
At least next week I can watch UK TV Gardens and get some practical advice
MalanD, Its is on Ö÷²¥´óÐã1 Scotland, you may be able to watch on iplayer.
Thanks. iplayer? What is it? Gosh, that's another new thing I have to learn!
All Ö÷²¥´óÐã local TV stations are free on Sky*: when we switch on our TV it comes up with a menu of about 10 billion stations (most of which we cannot get as we only have a freeview box) scroll though until you find Ö÷²¥´óÐã Scotland et voila!
* my oh has put Ö÷²¥´óÐã Scotland on our TV's 'favourites' list somehow (though we live in deepest Gloucestershire) so though I'm totally lacking in 21st Century techie skills with one click of the remote I can at least watch Beechgrove. Yay!
Pinging for tonight at 7.30 Ö÷²¥´óÐã SCOTLAND or Sky, but sorry don't know number.
Big welcome back to the Beechgrove Garden, channel 971 for Ö÷²¥´óÐã1 Scotland on Sky south of the border. Well worth waiting for although they could have had better weather for their first programme!!.
Plenty of useful bits and pieces, especially cost comparison on plug plants, and am sure will quickly re-establish this quality gardening programme as a favourite.
Hi welshcol, sorry the weather wan't up to the usual standard. Next week Beechgrove Garden will come from the Bahamas!!
I didn't know about this programme until I saw your thread. Really enjoyed it, and it's on at 7.30 when there's nothing else to watch (I realise some people may disagree on that).
I love the way the team of presenters have obviously been together so long, they know each other really well.
Thanks very much amazing.
Yes we can get beechgrove on iplayer, just checked. yey! I'll watch it tonight. MalanD just google bbc iplayer then it's pretty straightforward.
Loved it, as usual.
How about that split-second site of dancing round (Highland Fling?) on the ice - hilarious!
Hi greebosnanny, glad you enjoyed Beachgrove. I t good watching the clips from years gone by. Did you hear the guy who said, "Tits like nutcrackers". Just about wet myself,
Worth a cackle either side of the border, amazingscotlass*, though it was the well-timed collapse of the hanging baskets that had my small son rolling in the aisles!
* and I meant 'sight' before, o/c
Yes I too have just watched Beechgrove on iplayer...dead easy.
I think the weather added a bit of surrealism
²¹³¾²¹³ú¾±²Ô²µ²õ³¦´Ç³Ù±ô²¹²õ²õÌý
which showed that gardeners just get on with the work, within reason, whatever the conditions and I think the presenters took it all in good part and added to the tongue in cheek, "start of term" programme content. Good on them and production staff too.
Just popped in to say that the joke I told on message 13 went a bit 'tits up' I got the word wrong. It should have been 'tits like coconuts' and peanuts as well. Stupid me. Hope this doesn't get modded, so every one can see how silly I was.
Hi all
Just a wee reminder, Beechgrove Garden, 2nd program of the year, on tonight 7.30pm Ö÷²¥´óÐã One
Sorry, should have said, Ö÷²¥´óÐã One 'Scotland'
Thoroughly enjoyed tonights program. The 'dealing with rabbits' part was a good laugh . Its good to have Beechgrove back for another season!!!
ping, it's Wednesday
And that means BEECHGROVE GARDEN is on bbc one Scotland or sky 971, 19.30.
Great episode-all presenters on top form and the amount of gardening items they cover in 30 minutes and all good stuff is amazing.
There is only one problem for us South of the border, and I know we should not be watching , is that the information is three to four weeks too late.
Welshcol, why is it that after every BEECHGROVE GARDEN prog that I have to apologise to you. For goodness sake please come and live in Scotland!!!!!
is the programme repeated at any time? My OH stopped recording it after 2 mins!
amazingscotlass Welshcol, why is it that after every BEECHGROVE GARDEN.......Â
Had three glorious years in Falkirk and would love to come back.
Unfortunately set in my ways and have just got the garden planted .
Thanks for the thought though
Take care-will touch base next Wednesday!.
Clarylou Beechgrove is on iplayer now.
Thank you, I will watch it later.
Just for info - at end of the last week's programme they said that they're going to build a greenhouse this week (30th April).
Mind-readers or what -- Yippeeeeee - can't wait!
Told you it was a wonderful programme.
That should have been
Too much of the amber nectar amazingscotlass effecting brain finger coordination?
Guess what? Its Wednesday, and what's on TV on Wednesdays? BEECHGROVE GARDEN. Yes! Ö÷²¥´óÐã1 Scotland and Sky 971 at 19.30. I await your comments with baited breath. Are you there Welshcol?
amazing scotlass , being from n.e. scotland myself , i also really enjoy beechgrove and i think it,s far better than G.W.
But can i ask , are you on some sort of commision or something ????????????????
It's good to have Beechgrove back, we are not all preparing for global warming and Mediterranean plantings. My own seedlings slumped under three hours of hailstones, it's good to see that sort of thing reflected in gardening TV.
Hi Voddydod, not on commission, just like to rub it in that we have the best gardening prog.
Here we are again-happy as can be..........
Hi Voddydod, not on commission, just like to rub it in that we have the best gardening prog.Â
Have to agree amazingscotlass, yet again the BG team seem to cram in so much more of interest into 30 minutes than GW in 60 and they are all so happy with it as well.
Very engaging programme and cant wait until they get into the veggies in full swing.
I have currently planted out my runner beans and are 3-4 inches high and the outdoor lettuces are catching them up.
Regards to all.
I just knew you would pop up Welshcol.
, in reply to message 35.

Hi Normalot
We too had hailstones this evening, as I was driving along the M 42.
They were the size of golf balls !!!!!!
Welllllll maybe not that big!
Cheers
Well, what happens when I am at work when Beechgrove is on, I taped it and watched late last night. Wasn't it good.
Thanks to this thread now am a great fan!
What a really good programme Beechgrove is.
It's still on iplayer for another day if anyone has missed it.
A wee question for everyone. What day is it?
It's Wednesday.
And what's on TV at 19.30?
BEECHGROVE GARDEN. Yippee.
Hey, Did anyone watch it? Come on and admit it, it is the best gardeners prog on the Beeb. Very area orientated.
So where is Welshcol then. In the pub, in his garden or still glued to the TV. Oh jus remembered the footie was on tonite, maybe watching that.
This is my very first post on this forum, so I am pleased that it is in support of the best gardening programme on television.
I think Beechgrove Garden is still in touch with proper gardening and plants and not just design and colour. I watch it and I live in East Anglia.
ping
Its Wednesday today.
Now would a welshman be watching football amazingscotslass ??!!!
Actually been on missionary work over the border but taped Beechgrove and thought the pond excerpt (sketch?) was one of the best yet with Jim waving his branches about
Have a great Bank Holiday will touch base next week.
Who remembered its on Friday night this week at
7-30pm to go to the Gardening Scotland show?
Very remiss not to remind all the avid viewers "amazingscotslass" or did you forget too!!!!.
Those lucky blooming Scots !!!!
Well actually I am allowed to say that, I am married to one, lucky me!!!!!!!
