peonies and rose

  Does anyone rember seeing the tv prog of I have the best house and garden, where there was an area that had beds with pink peonies followed by pink roses. I wld like to be able to see this again but cant remember which garden it was.

  Not absolutely sure but I think it might have been The Manor House at Upton Grey, near Basingstoke, Hampshire.

  From memory it may well have been the Manor House at Upton Grey. Ros Wallinger has done a magnificent job of restoring this lovely Gertrude Jekyll garden and it is well worth a visit.
  
  I remember, a few years ago now, turning up there to visit, not aware that it was actually a private home. Ros very generously made us very welcome and we had a marvellous morning looking around her garden. I am gob-smacked that she did it herself without a huge team. I try to remember that whenever I look at my relatively small plot and wonder how I will ever keep up with it all!

  I think you are correct many thanks I have looke it up on the web and the part I was interested in recreating was the rose garden We are going to another house and this time I dont particularly want a lawn as such so i may be able to incorporate some of this loveley garden in my plans.
