River cottage is and a brill presenter. This is the type of thing I like to watch very entertaining .Ö÷²¥´óÐã needs to start giveing us programes like this gradeners world as gone right down the pan for me nothing entertaining at all .I just wish I had the guts of not to pay my tv licence money but I dont.Yet again channel 4 comes up trumps with a programme worth watching and we dont give them any money .Plus Jamis at home another great and entertaining programe .Come on Ö÷²¥´óÐã give us something for our money as this is not worth the paper its wrote on.
Both programmes you mentioned where the presentors 'act' naturally, doing what they do best, in their own backyard. I believe Ch4 gives them a semi-free rein in terms of the content of the programme. Ö÷²¥´óÐã on the other hand, has to follow strict guidlines as laid down by the powers that be. This is my logic.
Very watchable, someone at ease with the camera and very personable.
Has turned going green into a very good business, but good luck to him.
He is not that PC as well when it comes to killing animals and eating them. Not sure the Ö÷²¥´óÐã would let him get away with it.
The butchery of the pig recently has been absolutely fascinating even though I don't like pork.
A very well made show

Also bear in mind that River Cottage is effectively a brand. The location is used commercially and they also run retail businesses off the back of it.
There is no way the Ö÷²¥´óÐã charter would allow this.
Another interesting point is that GW is a magazine programme running for however many weeks a year it is. River Cottage is probably in production for the thick end of a year to produce the six programmes that are transmitted. Plenty of opportunity then to shape it into something totally engaging. GW is as we know, generally speaking, made the week prior to transmission.

River cottage is my favourite programme on tv, Hugh is best presenter of any in this type of programme. My dream would be to have my own small holding. I am planning to vist the river cottage canteen in Axminster. no matter how many times I have watched River cottage programmes I always view the the repeats.
Plus I have signed up to hughs lastest project Landshare what GREAT idea..
