As the title states, are there too many presenters on Gardener's World, especially for a 30 minute slot? I remember Monty saying that he was only there appox. 3/4 hours each week, when he did it, so maybe they need them all, to cope with all the filming, etc. My main problem will always be the fact that the garden is not owned by the main presenter, but does the fact there are so many people doing little things, a problem too? Let Carol do a programme all on her own, maybe like the old Plants for Free programme, it's what she does best and I would watch it and record it for future reference. Give Joe a design series, just not allotments, leave that for one of his hobbies. I don't mind Alys helping out, as she probably knows the garden, better than the others.

Joe and Carol, could still join GW as a guest presenter/s, but I want to see more of Toby doing the stuff. At the end of the day, he is the 'main' presenter, just sometimes doesn't feel it.

Just for the record, I never said that I was only there for 3 - 4 hours a week. For a 30 min programme I was there for 2 days and for a 60 minute one for three days. The other presenters would be there for a day each.

    Hello Monty

So nice to know you are still reading.
What will you be doing with yourself this winter, - I know it's a difficult time for you and for many others.
Any tips on keeping the gardening spirits up?
Wh have a thread on sowing Sweet Peas now, which helps, but it would be nice to hear what else you can keep on doing, apart from spending too much with the seed catalogues and dreaming of Spring

Sorry Monty, I thought I read that somewhere, my mistake. When you were the main presenter, you did appear to be doing more of the work, which I liked, though if it led to your health problems, I'm sorry. I've always been a practical gardener and you were right down my alley.

As I've said elsewhere, I've liked all the presenters in all there different ways, so was wondering whether it's the amount of presenters that make people, including me sometimes, think it's bity, now.

Oooh Monty, should you be doing this?? I know you'll be far too professional to reply (dammit!) but are you enjoying the reading? Thank God Christmas is coming, we'll all be far too busy to post anything rude, nasty, mean or horrid in any other way. May I be the first to wish you a very happy .......... oh dear, where's Scrooge when you need him?
