I HAVE GROWN A COUPLE OF MAGNOLIAS USING THE SEED COLLECT FROM THE TREE IN MY GARDEN(IT MUST BE AT LEAST THIRTY YEARS OLD - A GRANDIFLORA VARIETY). THEY ARE TWO YEARS OLD AND DOING WELL. I HAVE HEARD THAT MAGNOLIAS GROWN FROM SEED CAN TAKE UP TO 25 YEARS TO FLOWER! DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THE SHORTEST POSSIBLE TIME IS.
    THANKS.

Well done. Have no idea when they will flower but do know that our inherited M.soulangiana flowered for the first time at about 12-13years old. The previous owner was disappointed that it had not flowered whilst he lived here. It definitely wouldn't have been a seed planted by him. Think you will have to be patient a while longer. Jo.
