Hello, I was just looking at Sarah's web site to look for seeds to order for this year and noticed that Sarah and her husband Adam are featuring in a new documentary about Sissinghurst Castle. 8, half hour programmes on Ö÷²¥´óÐã 4 starting on the 22nd February at 8 p.m with the first two programmes being shown back to back.
Have a look on Sarahs web site and read more, sounds very interesting and one to watch.
Erm, which Sara is this?
Woops! I mean 'Sarah!
It will be Raven.

Thanks for flagging this up Paperwhite.
At last - something to look forward to that isn't months away! Both Sarah Raven and Sissinghurst in the same programme - sounds like it could be a very interesting programme. Thank you paperwhite
erm, on second thoughts paperwhite, I wish I had not seen your post. just spent hours on the website in question and am now several pounds lighter (but soo looking forward to the sound of the postman's knock)
Sarah's seeds are really excellent with good germination rates and a fantastic variety... I've tried other brands but usually come back to hers as they are more reliable.
Thank you for that helpful information TalleyHo. I've never bought SR seeds before but the photo gallery on the site is superb and the best advertisement there could be for her seeds. I literally couldn't resist ordering some summer colour in this depressingly grey weather! I also ordered two of SR's books today - The Bold and Brilliant Garden and The Cutting Garden, though I did this through another website which sells them new at a lower price, albeit unsigned. Winter here seems to have gone on for months and I can't wait to let myself sink into those wonderful photographs of SR's garden and plants.
The postman wont even get the chance to knock twice ...
I totally agree, Sarah's web site is wonderful. The gallery is an addition this year and such an inspiration. Her seeds, plants, tubers and courses are all worth recomending, it's the only site I ever use. I'm only too pleased to have passed this information on.
Very best wishes
Paperwhite

I too love Sarah Raven's taste - her choice of varieties is great, but her prices on her website are a little steep for me. It's easy to find some of the varieties she sells elsewhere for a fraction of the price - sorry Sarah, but I need my pennies to go further!!

You could always just 'window' shop.

I think alot of peple do just that and take some ideas away and find the same or similar plants and produce very acceptable replicas. Something we can all do, particularly with the way the economic climate is heading - we all need beautiful things to look at and cheer us up. Take a look at Sarah's gallery, a pure tonic for such a gloomy day such as today.
I thoroughly enjoyed the 2 episodes yesterday and wish her much luck in her desire to 'beef-up' the restaurant. The lack of enthusiasm by those running the restaurant was painful to watch.
Where on earth do they get the idea that the clientel only want traditional food? The guests looked largely over 50. Retired and hopefully (despite the crisis)with a bob a two and years of travelling experience and sampling and enjoying 'foreign' food!
Do hope it all works out for her. If my advice to Sarah is get a job as a TV chef and really spread the word!
Greetings Tulipmania
Oh I think the word on 'foreign' food has spread far and wide but has failed to impregnate the strange mind set of the people from the National Trust. I'm into my 60s and our family like to eat a variety of food, often from around the World. We eat Moroccan, Indian, Thai, Spanish and Italian food at home and look for similar dishes when out. I think Sarah is swimming against the tide at Sissinghurst. I'm looking forward as to how this series develops.
Couldn't agree more Paul. But being the wrong side of 55 couldn't help but notice that the NT people were also not so young! Do they come from another planet? And the chef was not much better!
Makes my mouth water, the thought of all those lovely spicy flavours - added to home grown veggies of course!
Greetings Tulip
