    Hello All
The reason I'm asking is to maybe find out about a Ö÷²¥´óÐã program I saw on Ö÷²¥´óÐã1 sign zone early this morning about Swarms. It was on around 4am Dutch time and the reason I was watching that late is my neighbour had a pipe leak that flooded my electricity cupboard and caused the necessary panic here. After Eneco fixed the problem I watched the TV to calm down and was treated to one of the most fantastic programs that the Ö÷²¥´óÐã have ever produced. The film work was sublime, the background music fantastic and it is a 2 part program so I will be sitting up late again tonight to see the 2nd part, that is if it's on tonight. How I wish that the producers of that program would be captured by the Gardeners World Team then we would have nothing to complain about. Absolutely one of the top ten programs ever on Ö÷²¥´óÐã, give the producers a pat on the back for a truely magnificent program. Any info on the program and the 2nd part would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Me
I just checked CEEFAX and it is not on tonight bah humbug, but I did see countryfile is on at 03.05 celebrating Kew Gardens 250th anniversary, well worth a watch as a substitute. Does anybody know when the 2nd part of Swarms will be on?

I've just checked the Radio Times website. As far as I can make out its on SignZone on Saturday, 28 February at 3.05am - 4.05am. It is just described as a documentary series, so I don't know if its the next instalment you are looking for. They are looking at bats and fire ants.

I may have seen some of the series. If its the one I think it is, the episode with the starlings is truly amazing.

    Hello The Cycling Gardener
Yes that is the one with the starlings in it, amazing arial acrobatics but on the other side the droppings from the birds left cars and people covered in **it. The mayflys in Mississippi was astounding with the camera work inside the swarm was genius camerawork with the flies flying and their wings in sycronicity so as not to disturb their flying partners was incredible. Thanks for letting me know as it is one show that I do not want to miss.

    Hello TCG
I just remembered another piece of the program that was fantastic to see, some chap in America covered himself in the pheremone only produced by queen bees and he had what could be described as a live bee suit all over him. The bees covered him from head to foot and he was walking about the town protected from anything with his swarm. Apparently the hormone from the queen makes the bees protect her from attack, but when the chap walked into a diner with them all over him the peoples faces inside the diner was hilarious.

I saw both episodes the first time they came on (I've only got the four channels). This is the one showing how they found out that elephants are nervous of the sound of bees buzzing, so to keep the bull elephants from striding through and eating the cabbage crops they set out nests for the bees at about 10 yd intervals around the perimeter fence. I posted a comment on this under the thread about beeeezzz a week or so back on this or allotment board. A brilliant couple of programmes I thought. I taped it and sent off to my family to watch. I am sure it will be televised again, it was the best tv in a long time.

Let us know if you don't catch part 2, as it might be possible to post the tape (VHS not CD) to you in Holland, if that is allowed. I remember now it must have been on Ö÷²¥´óÐã1 when I saw it because my reception was not tip top. But not to be missed.
