"The Dig In Van will be coming near you" Yeh just as long as you live in England. I’m new here so someone has probably already pointed this out. The Dig In campaign is a great idea , but only a week to apply for the packets of seeds just not long enough. It would have nice to have been warned in advance for those writing in for them of just how little time they had to apply. I applied on line just after the show and still waiting. Not GW’s fault at all of course, but was just wondering if anyone has received said seeds yet.
Also not too sure how well butternut sqush will do in Scotland and the north of England.

I didn't bother applying because these things are always over-subscribed.

The Dig-In Van has already done the South West but as it was in Plymouth. There seemed little point in my driving 50 miles each way to get 'free' seeds.

    Hallo all

I run the Dig In website, so I can give you a bit more information about the seed giveaway.

We were amazed by the speed the seeds went - over 180,000 applications came in in the space of four days, with about half of them on the Friday evening after Gardeners' World introduced the campaign. We had expected they'd be available for longer, and planned accordingly. I suppose it just shows you can't overestimate people's enthusiasm for free stuff!

On the Tour front - the Dig In campaigns team are looking into adding a Scottish date - nothing is confirmed as yet but as soon as we know, we'll add it to the list on the site.

There were a couple of Welsh dates on the Tour isn't just confined to England - but it is limited as to where it can go by whether there's a Ö÷²¥´óÐã Big Screen available.

Hope this is useful - I'll pop back to the gardening boards regularly, so if anyone's got any questions about the campaign, ask away. OR - visit the Dig In blog at , you can leave comments there too.

    All the best

If you live in Swansea, the Dig In Van came and went before the GW programme to announce its arrival went out. After the Lord Mayor's Show me thinks.

I went to Swansea on the day the programme said it would be there, and it wasn't. So wasted 40 mile round trip. Come on Ö÷²¥´óÐã2 Wales lets have the right information on the right day, or at least an on screen caption to say the programme is a repeat and the Dig Van has moved on.

Having emailed the Ö÷²¥´óÐã to complain and all I got was a load of rubbish about a Ö÷²¥´óÐã2 Wales Charter, which mean't they had to show Rugby on a Friday, I can tell people this is real compost, and is nothing but a get out clause.

I didn't even get a sorry, or a kiss my aspididtra.

    Shame on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Wales.
