I have the impression that, for example, Geoff Hamilton, was driven by a vision, not shared by many others at the time. His vision was gardening organically. My impression was that part of the motivation of his doing the program was to encourage his audience to take his (unconvenional) views onboard. He was a sort of evangelist for a cause, in a light sort of way.

I think Monty had his own vision, probably largely influenced by GH. He seemed very keen too on growing your own veg - very fashionable now, but possibly not so fashionable when took over the program.

Do Tony and Joe have a vision of some new place where they want to take gardening?

    What is it?

In last night's program, Tony started off talking about the importance of front gardens and how they could be an important wildlife resource (gardening for wldlife would be visionary). Then we saw Alys doing bricklaying in a desert, what another post calls "Builders World". Apparently Joe will be making a front garden to "include modern materials and resourceful storage solutions for push bikes and wheelie bins".

    Yes, well.

(I didn't actually watch much of last night's program (switched over to see Sir Alan), so I may have got the wrong impression of what eventually happened).
