green seeds

  Seeing Carol sowing green seeds of Primula's made me very excited. We are creating our own garden from scratch so I am propagating lots and lots of plants. This way collecting seeds from my primula's and growing them on, saves me a whole year. The garden will seem less baren.
  Can anybody tell me what other plants are suitable for propagating this way? Perhaps tell me of a current book inwhich I could look it up?

  I think only a few things can be grown from green seed. But I collected brown seed from lupins, phlox last year and they have germinated, don’t expect to get flowers this year but hope to next.
  
  Like you my garden was very barren looking when we moved in about two years ago, I’m gradually filling it up using cheep seed, the most I’ve paid this year was 70p – oh except for some delphinium seeds which were dearer. I also got some young plant and took cuttings from them. I’m not an experienced gardener, but as we don’t have a lot of money I’ll try anything.
  
  I've been lucky of late with first a neighbour, and then my other half’s Aunt giving me plants which she had propagated or split from her own garden. She has an amazing garden and a lot of the plants have been given to her as cuttings over the years, even roses grown from cuttings.
  
  So there is hope for you and I yet then.
