Must be a good garden NCFCcrazy if you're on here shouting about it. What can we expect? is it worth missing Strictly for? spill the beans! its not more fruit and veg is it, and there any teacups!
Ive never actually seen it, seen pictures in the paper, mainly exotics from what Ive seen.
Only cropped up in conversation over a pint, I was well pleased to have come first in 2 categories of the local in bloom competition and may friend says, oh, my uncle won the daily mail best garden compo, then get a text a few days later saying GW were round filming!
Well, I really enjoyed that.
A bit of a single topic programme, but that meant it felt less bitty. A longer spot by Carol gave time to expand on her theme of late flowering Compositae - and I need to play that again to check which Aster is which. Great visit to Trentham (I know it well) and how to take ideas from big spaces and translate them to small spots. (I picked up on Sedum Red Cauli when I went there too and have it on order for next year. Joe - I've got more Solidago than I know what do with. You're surely better without it though, it would swamp that corner in no time)
Got slightly lost on the Heuchera follow up, but we did at least get a follow up, and I thought Joe's insect home design was inspired. So much better now the timer has gone....
I suppose everyone else was watching Strictly. Oh well...

Trillium
Nope - I was watching it as well and detected a positive shift(slight, but still there)back to the old format - I enjoyed last night much more than any of the new series (apart from the delightful Jessamine Cottage)- let's hope things will improve in general now -
Me too and have to agree about the positive shift - know what you mean about the heucheras Trillium, didn't really know what to make of that one but really enjoyed the allium slot...OH is currently trying to dissuade me from going out and buying even more of them...
Yes I enjoyed the programme more that usual. The Gardener of the Year garden was quite exceptional.
I enjoyed this week's programme. I nearly typed the word "thoroughly" then, but that would be an exageration. The programme had really good content and was back to an acceptable level. My only complaint would be it was only 30 minutes. I loved Carol's tip for hiding the bare legs of the new england asters and Jo's bee construction was nice, though I've never managed to cut bamboo into suitable size pieces easily and it would have been nice to see how they did that. I also pity the person who must have spent most of a day doing it.
If it carries on like this now Rosemary's back I will be a happy bunny. Maybe I will even learn to tolerate Toby.
Mich
I haven't watched it yet but will do so soon. It will be a bit like watching the local amateur drama group doing 'pigmalion'.

I must admit it was a better show this week. Hopefully this treand will continue.
The garden in Norwich looked really good, something different, shame we didn't see more of it. Come on beeb, can we see some more of it please.
Agree with you monkey, they could have shown more of the garden, too focused on the presenters
Nope Trillium, and I'm so glad I didn't! What a good programme. Carol great as usual but the star this week was Joe's visit to Trentham Gardens. About time we got to see a Piet Oudolf garden and what a beauty his part is (the other part was lovely too but I'm a big fan of Oudolf). As others have already written, please can we see some more of this wonderful garden?

I really enjoyed the programme this week. So much better without all the gimmicks. I attended a talk by Tom Stuart-Smith earlier this year about his work at Trentham and hoped to visit but as usual work got in the way. The Oudolf planting was exceptional so I'm really going to make an effort to get there next week, if I can clear the diary for a day.
Anyone else noticed how the 30 min fix has turned into "if you have 30 mins this weekend, do one thing".
I loved "do one thing" and hated the "30 min fix" so was a good compromise

I have kept out of this one this week as we both fell asleep during GW.
OH thinks she has found a cure for insomnia.
Sorry it is just not hitting the spot
